“Beauty and Mr. Romantic” Episode 9 & 10 Recap:

• Do Ra can’t seem to get Pil Seung out of her mind ever since she discovered that he was her first crush. Her focus is now entirely fixated on Pil Seung, and she seizes every opportunity at work to engage with him, even participating in acting simulations together.
• On the flip side, Jin Dan showers Do Ra with fine jewelry in an attempt to win her heart, but Do Ra doesn’t have any space for him in her affections. Jin Dan is thrilled, believing he’s beginning a relationship with Do Ra. However, Jin Dan’s mother, who wants him to take a prominent role in the company, disapproves of his relationship with a famous TV star instead of someone from a wealthy conglomerate. When Do Ra informs Jin Dan’s mother that they’re not in a relationship, Jin Dan is shocked. Do Ra seeks clarity and assures him they are nothing more than business partners. If she unintentionally led him on, she apologizes and offers to return all the gifts he gave her.
• The problem is, Do Ra’s immature mother Mi Ja, traded that expensive necklace and used it for her gambling. Jin Dan came to confront Mi Ja, but Mi Ja shifted the blame and acted as if it was his fault the situation turned out this way.
• Do Shik, who left Myung Dong heartbroken, goes to meet with her to mend things, but she treats him as if he is invisible.
• Jin Taek, who is pressured to produce a son to continue the family line for the company, considers Pil Seung, the son of his wife’s longtime friend Sun Young, as the perfect candidate. He asks his wife Soo Yeon if he should consider Pil Seung as Ma Ri’s partner. Soo Yeon is not pleased to hear this because Pil Seung is her secret biological son.
• Do Ra and Pil Seung went out for a drink, where they talked about their childhood. While together, Do Ra witnessed Pil Seung drunkenly crying about his first love. Frustrated by Pil Seung’s lack of awareness, Do Ra wrote “I am stupid” on a piece of paper and placed it on Pil Seung’s back. He walked home with the sign, only to be embarrassed when discovered by his mother Sun Young. Confronting Do Ra about the prank, Pil Seung is shocked when she confesses her feelings for him. He rejects her, echoing their childhood rejection. Do Ra, unaccustomed to rejection as a superstar, struggles to comprehend his response.
• Ma Ri, who was hanging out with her friends, found herself in a dangerous situation after following a stranger. However, heroically, Do Jun intervened to save her. Coincidentally, Do Jun is the youngest brother of Do Ra, who has just returned to Korea from studying abroad.
• Jin Dan’s love for Do Ra persists, and he asks her to meet at a fancy restaurant. There, he proposes to her, but Do Ra kindly rejects him. However, Jin Dan’s reaction is not so gentle, as he coerces Do Ra to meet with him again. Startled, Do Ra storms out, prompting Pil Seung’s concern. Aware that Do Ra is meeting Jin Dan, Pil Seung worries due to Jin Dan’s unfavorable impression of him. The next moment, Pil Seung finds himself in front of the restaurant where Do Ra and Jin Dan are dining. Seeing Do Ra in distress, Pil Seung takes her somewhere safe without asking for an explanation.
• Do Ra and Pil Seung find a safe spot to sit, but when high school kids start noticing them, they move to an alley where they won’t be found. There, they share a gentle kiss.

“Beauty and Mr. Romantic” Episode 11 Trailer breakdown:

Jin Taek is pressured to relinquish control of Angel Investment Corp. and is instructed to hand it over to Jin Dan.

After sharing a kiss, Pil Seung begins to develop feelings for Do Ra. However, aware of the history between their families, he doesn’t want his feelings to interfere. He harshly tells Do Ra that they are not meant to be together.

Jin Taek’s aunt initiates a thorough investigation into Soo Yeon’s past, questioning individuals to gather clues about whether she gave birth before her marriage to Jin Taek.
