*SPOILER ALERT* WOW! It was such a scam what they did to us on the latest trailer! I thought someone was going to die because there was a cemetery scene! But, thank you to the writer, he/she ended this series with a very happy ending, with everything back in place!
Let’s highlight the key recap points from episodes 49 and 50 of “It’s Beautiful Now”.
“It’s Beautiful Now” Episodes 49 & 50 Recap:
- Soo Jung rushes to the hospital after hearing that Kyung Chul has fainted. All the family members are in panic mode due to Soo Jung’s tragedy. Kyung Chul tells Soo Jung he would like to donate his liver, but Soo Jung firmly refuses.
- When Kyung Ae hears that Hyun Jae took a compatibility test to see if he can be the donor for Soo Jung’s liver surgery, Kyung Ae is furious, and she cannot accept it. She has mixed feelings and hopes that Hyun Jae’s compatibility results come out negative. However, unlike how she would hope, the test result came out positive. Meaning Hyun Jae is the right fit to donate his liver. Hyun Jae shares this good news with Mi Rae and tells her he wants to go through the surgery. Jin Heon tells this great news to Soo Jung (Jung Eun), but she cannot accept this.
- Hyun Jae visits Mi Rae’s place to share the result with Soo Jung (Jung Eun). However, she refuses. She explains why she won’t accept it even though she is so thankful for his actions.
- Kyung Ae summons Hyun Jae and lashes out her anger towards him. She expresses how sad she is that he would make such huge decisions without consulting with them. Hyun Jae, however, moves forward with his decision and tries his best to take care of his health before the big surgery. Jung Hoo goes and thanks Hyun Jae.
- Soo Jae and Yu Na get back together. When he was dropping Yu Na off at her place, he said the L word, I love You, Yu Na.
- Soo Jung (Jung Eun) starts to feel pain. She remembers when the doctor told her that once there are external symptoms, then it is irreparable. Hyun Jae keeps pushing Soo Jung (Jung Eun) to change her mind, but she is pretty adamant.
- Jin Heon finds Soo Jung on the bed, unconscious. They all rush to the hospital. Mi Rae rushes home to take care of Jung Ja, who was in a big state of shock. She shivers and tells Mi Rae, she hates to see anyone die and especially if that is Soo Jung. The doctor tells the family Soo Jung’s liver is deteriorating, and if she doesn’t get the liver transplant as soon as possible, then she won’t be able to have the surgery at all. Jin Heon is in deep sorrow.
- Kyung Ae finally accepts the fact that Hyun Jae made such a decision. Kyung Ae then visits Soo Jung (Jung Eun) and kindly persuades her to have the surgery with Hyun Jae’s liver. Kyung Ae explains to her how at first, she was really against him taking the surgery, but then she tells Soo Jung (Jung Eun) that she doesn’t want to see her in pain either.
- Hyun Jae goes under the big surgery after both Kyung Ae and Soo Jung (Jung Eun) finally come to terms. The doctor tells Hyun Jae, during the surgery if they believe the size of the liver is too small, they might have to stop in the middle. They are now all prepared for the surgery, and they both say goodbyes to their family and enter the operating room.
- When Mi Rae and Hyun Jae say their goodbyes, Hyun Jae has a flashback to the good old days. Then the scene changes, Soo Jung visiting the cemetery. (THIS WAS A SCAM! Last week’s trailer, I thought this scene had something to do with Soo Jung or Hyun Jae.. but it was a healthy Soo Jung visiting her adopted parents!) Everyone is healthy and well!
- Kyung Chul’s 80th birthday is coming soon (in Korea, 80th birthday is considered a very big event), and Kyung Ae and Soo Jung are planning something for his birthday. Soo Jung wants this day to be very special for Kyung Chul. All families gather and celebrate Kyung Chul’s birthday together. They all pass each other with good luck.
- This series, of course, won’t end with some comic side to it, in the middle of Kyung Chul’s birthday, both Mi Rae and Hae Joon scream from postpartum pain!
Binge-Watch all Episodes of “It’s Beautiful Now” on KOCOWA!
After “Young Lady and Gentleman” was a megahit and raised my standards of the weekend dramas to the roof, I was a little skeptical about “It’s beautiful Now”. BUT, this was such a fun, loving, family K-Drama that I’ve enjoyed every single episode! Now I wonder what comes next for Hyun Jae and Yoon Jae’s little family after the babies are born.
