Q. What encouraged you to start acting?
As a person in the entertainment business, it was quite natural to start acting but it actually has really helped me grow with my emotions tremendously,y and just the idea of being able to communicate through feelings and emotions to the viewers really helped me get going.
Q. What do you do when you get into a new character?
It varies all the time, but the character needs to tell the story clearly through their characteristics, so I always try to do a deep dive evaluation of the scripted lines and scenes.
Q. What iK-Drama have you watched recently that was the most impressive? And why?
The recently aired, Brain Works, was really fun to watch with a very fresh storyline. Especially because one of the CNBlue members, Yong Hwa was in it.
Q. What kind of character do you want to play in the future?
I don’t have a particular character that I would like to play, but instead playing a diverse cast of characters is just so fun and meaningful. If there is any character that has grown due to the result of heavy communications with the directors and the writers, I am down.
Q. If you can star in a K-Variety show, which shows do you want to be in?
I would like to appear as a special guest on 2 Days and 1 Night. It was a show that I really wanted to appear in a long time ago. I find reality shows difficult, but I won’t have as much pressure being on 2 Days and 1 Night.
Q.What would you say the differences and the similarities are, being ‘drummer Kang Min Hyuk’ vs ‘actor Kang Min Hyuk’?
The similarities, I should say, are the way I approach both situations to have the most fun. Also, the feeling of happiness I get when I feel like I’ve achieved what I wanted would be the same.
Q. The difference between the two is the power.
On stage as a CNBlue drummer, I can be my true self and get this indescribable feeling and power. All the notes and sounds I make, through my drum, get delivered directly to the audience, and my adrenaline explodes. On the other hand, as actor Kang Min Hyuk, I try to be less of myself and more of the character that I am playing.
Q. What are three words you want foreign fans to associate with when thinking of ‘Kang Min Hyuk’?
CNBlue’s Kang Min Hyuk, is an actor and a well-rounded person.
