On August 12, 2020 is a very meaningful day for KOCOWA, it is a day where we celebrate the year launch in Brazil. 

The service arrived in Brazil in August 2019 after an active campaign in 2018 on social media and in the form of an online petition, which received 10,000 signatures from Brazilian fans.

To celebrate the 1st year anniversary, all-time favorite, classic, and memorable episodes of “Running Man” are available in Portuguese, with stars such as Tom Cruise, Henry Cavill, Ryan Reynolds, Blackpink, Park Seo-Joon, Kang Ha-Neul, IU, Kim Soo-Hyun, Song Joong-Ki, Girls Generation, Lee Hyo-Ri and Rain. Running Man also turned 10 this year and is the most popular show on KOCOWA Brazil in 2020 — the variety show was the top 1 most watched in streaming, confirming a strong fandom.

Brazil proved to be a country in love with Korean variety shows such as  “Home Alone”, “The Return of Superman” and “Law of the Jungle” are also in the top 10 most popular shows.

“The last year has been a testament to the broad appeal Korean TV has across audiences in the Americas,” said KCP CEO Kun Hee Park. “Brazilian viewers started a petition demanding the distribution of Korean Dramas with Portuguese subtitles, which we were happy to provide after seeing how passionate these fans truly were. There are more than 10 thousand hours of programming and new episodes uploaded daily, in the largest library of Korean TV. In 1 year in Brazil, KOCOWA subtitled about 150 TV shows, including dramas and reality shows.
