KBS2’s upcoming weekend drama “Our Golden Days” (directed by Kim Hyung Seok, written by So Hyun Kyung) tells a heartwarming generational family melodrama built around a simple truth: “Everyone has their own golden days—whether it’s now, in the past, or still to come.”

The story follows a multigenerational family navigating their own versions of those “golden days,” shaped by the trials and triumphs of life.

Lee Ji Hyuk (played by Jung Il Woo) and his entire family become unemployed overnight. Ji Hyuk boldly hands in his resignation, his younger brother Ji Wan (Son Sang Yeon) is laid off against his will, and their youngest sibling Ji Soo Bin (Shin Soo Hyun) is brushed off as essentially jobless. Even their father, Lee Sang Chul (Cheon Ho Jin), is newly retired. The whole family suddenly finds themselves out of work, setting the stage for a painfully honest and all-too-familiar journey to re-employment.

Each family member tries to get back on their feet: Ji Hyuk working a physically demanding job, Sang Chul editing his resume, Ji Wan and Soo Bin tackling work in their own ways. These moments highlight the exhausting, competitive nature of job hunting in today’s world.

“Our Golden Days” introduces an emotional and brutally honest depiction of three generations grappling with life’s setbacks and the fight to find meaning again. As each character searches for their own version of a “golden day,” viewers can expect a touching, relatable story of growth, hardship, and hope.
