SF9, which has been one of the successful boy idol groups for seven years since its debut in 2016, ended its first contract on September 18. FNC Entertainment then stated that besides Rowoon, all the members agreed to renew the contract. “The former members renewed their contracts with the company, plans to take a leap forward once again with an eight-member system excluding Rowoon.”
The agency said, “We will concentrate on supporting Rowwon in acting and other personal activities,” adding, “Ro Woon and the other eight members, who will always remain and be remembered as SF9, will do their best and support each other in their respective career paths.”
Rowoon further expressed his feelings of withdrawal in a handwritten letter.
“There was a frustration that I could not solve each big and small misunderstanding, and I focused on work, thinking that sincerity would be delivered someday,” Rowoon, who looked back on the past, told fans “I’m really sorry if there are people who I might have hurt and disappointed by my complacent attitude. If you have ever felt unfamiliar with my change in appearance than before, it is because I hid behind it.” he said with a sincere apology. Rowoon did not participate in SF9 album activities last year for filming a drama.
Ro Woon, who eventually decided to leave SF9 and focus on his acting activities, said, “I want to let the fans know that I want to take courage to take on a new challenge,” and stay tuned for the 27-year-old Kim Seok Woo (his real name) live a life he can take responsibility for. I will be exactly what you have always remembered”, he stressed.
