The company determines the weekly ranking by collecting data of the viewer’s reactions to the news article, community portals, blog posts, videos, and different social media sites. So, let’s get into this week’s rankings!

1. Our Beloved Summer

The SBS romantic comedy “Our Beloved Summer” has topped the most Buzzworthy K-Drama of the week! The series is a coming-of-age story about a former couple who are forced to come together again when a documentary they shot in high school goes viral.

The drama stars Choi Woo Shik, who is known for his roles in the film “Parasite” and the dramas “Pride and Prejudice” & “My Fantastic Funeral” and Kim Da Mi, who is known for her role in the film “The Witch: Part 1. The Subversion.” It also stars Kim Sung Cheol, who starred in “to. Jenny” & “Do You Like Brahms?” and rising actress Roh Jeong Eui.

2. Bulgasal: Immortal Souls

Bulgasal: Immortal Souls is a fantasy story between a woman who remembers her past lives and a man who cannot kill or be killed and has lived for the past 600 years as a Bulgasal.

The drama stars Lee Jin Wook, who is known for his roles in “SPY MyeongWol” and “Return,” Nara, who starred in “Suspicious Partner” and “Doctor Prisoner,” Lee Joon, who is popularly known for his role in “My Father is Strange,” and Gong Seung Yeon, who starred in “The Master of Revenge.”

3. Young Lady and Gentleman

This family drama follows the story of a gentleman with three kids and a live-in tutor who helps him grow closer to his kids. The drama shows how their love story begins to bloom.

The drama stars Ji Hyun Woo, who is known for his dramas “Risky Romance” & “The Good Thieves,” Kang Eun Tak, who is best known for his role in “A Man in a Veil,” Park Ha Na who starred in the drama “Fatal Promise,” and rising actress Lee Se Hee

The series won 7 awards at the “2021 KBS Drama Awards,” including the Grand Prize, won by Ji Hyun Woo, and the best couple award won by Ji Hyun Woo and Lee Se ee. Currently, the series is in 4th place among the “Top 50 series per nationwide viewers in Korea,” and it was extended for two more episodes, making it 52 episodes in total!

4. Through the Darkness

The crime thriller drama follows the story of criminal behavioral analysts who attempt to understand serial killers by reading their darkest minds. The drama is based on the 2018 non-fiction book of the same title co-written by Korea’s first criminal profiler, Kwon Il Yong, and journalist-turned-author Ko Na Mu.

The series stars Kim Nam Gil, who is popularly known for his roles in “The Great Queen Seondeok” & “The Fiery Priest,” as well as Jin Sun Kyu and Kim So Jin.

5. The King of Tears, Lee Bang Won

The historical drama follows the story of Lee Bang Won, a leader who helped found Joseon and became the dynasty’s third king. This drama is one of the most anticipated dramas before it aired since KBS is reviving its historical drama series after five years.

The drama stars Joo Sang Wook, who is popularly known for his roles in “Birth of the Beauty” & “Fate and Fury,” Park Jin Hee who starred in “Doctor Detective” & “Love Scene Number,” Yeh Ji Won, who is known for her role in “Still 17,” and Kim Yeong Cheol.

6. Tracer

The action thriller drama revolves around the people working at the National Tax Service.

It stars idol turned actor Im Si Wan, who is popularly known for his roles in “The Man from the Equator” & “The King In Love,” Ko A Sung, who starred in the dramas “Master of Study” & “Heard It Through the Grapevine,” and Son Hyun Joo, who is known for his roles in “Three Days” & “Justice.”

7. Let Me Be Your Knight

The romance music drama follows the story of a lead singer of a popular idol band, who suffers from sleepwalking, and a live-in doctor who helps him cure his condition secretly.

The drama stars Jung In Sun, who starred in “Naked Fireman” & “My Secret, Terrius” and U-KISS member Lee Jun Young, who is known for his roles in “Please Don’t Date Him” & “Good Casting.”

8. Moonshine

Set in the era of strict prohibition, a dangerous yet exciting romance of a moonshiner and an inspector begins. It depicts human love and desire during the period of the strictest alcohol prohibition law in Joseon history.

The drama stars Yoo Seung Ho, who starred in the dramas “Remember” & “I Am Not a Robot,” Lee Hye Ri, who is known for her roles in “Entertainer” & “Two Cops,” Byeon Woo Seok, and former Gugudan & IOI member Kang Mina.

9. Snowdrop

Set in 1987, this K-Drama  follows the story of a female university student who discovers a male graduate student covered in blood and hides him from the government in her dorm room at a women’s university.

The ensemble drama stars Jung Hae In, who is known for his roles in “While You Were Sleeping” & “Blood,” BLACKPINK Jisoo, Yoo In Na, who starred in “My Love From the Star” & “You Are The Best,” Jang Seung Jo, who is known for his role in “Money Flower” and Kim Hye Yoon, who starred in “Extra-ordinary You.”

10. School 2021

The youth drama tells the story of students who choose a path rather than an entrance examination. It depicts their growing period of dreams, friendship, and excitement as they struggle through the undefined boundaries. It is the 4th installment of KBS2’s School franchise (School 2013, Who Are You, School 2017).

The drama stars former X1 member and WEI, Kim Yohan, Cho Yi Hyun of “How to Buy a Friend,” and Kim Young Woo, who is known for his role in “Police University.”

  1. I don’t think snowdrop should be on the list. Aside from Jisoo’s bad acting, it involves historical distortion and it is insensitive to the victims of the families who were accused of being spies. Shame on you for promoting this.
