“Beauty and Mr. Romantic” Episode 27 & 28 Recap:

Mi Ja discovers that Ji Young has the same moles as Do Ra, leading her to become increasingly convinced that Ji Young is her biological daughter, Do Ra. Ji Young is extremely flustered upon hearing this, considering Mi Ja’s belief to be irrational. Mi Ja experiences conflicting emotions: she is thrilled at the prospect of seeing her daughter, whom she believed was deceased, yet she finds herself unable to fully comprehend the situation.

To confirm Ji Young’s identity as Do Ra, Mi Ja devises a clever plan: she offers Ji Young a walnut drink. Since Do Ra has a severe walnut allergy, Mi Ja expects Ji Young to show an allergic reaction if she is indeed Do Ra. Sure enough, Ji Young starts scratching all over her body after consuming the drink. Mi Ja’s suspicions are further confirmed when a DNA test shows a 99.99% match. Overwhelmed by this revelation, Mi Ja collapses to the ground and immediately tell this news to her eldest son, Do Sik.
They approach Ji Young and hand her the DNA results, explaining that she is biologically related to Mi Ja. Initially skeptical, Ji Young is convinced by Mi Ja and Do Sik to undergo a DNA test herself. When Ji Young sees the conclusive evidence, she is shocked and immediately seeks out her grandmother to uncover the truth about the night she was found in the ocean and what really transpired.

Ji Young takes her grandmother’s toothbrush for the DNA test. To her dismay, the results come back negative, leaving Ji Young even more shocked and confused.
Ji Young gets kicked out of Pil Seung’s home due to a misunderstanding between Pil Seung and Jin Dan, after Jin Dan visits Pil Seung’s home extremely drunk asking for Ji Young to find out answers of why she was playing him. This was definitely not true and but Pil Seung himself was absent in Paris, France receiving a prestigious film award, unable to witness the situation to make it right. Feeling displaced, Ji Young returned home with Mi Ja. Mi Ja proceeded to influence Ji Young by claiming that Do Ra’s downfall and subsequent suicide were solely caused by Pil Seung. Initially skeptical, Ji Young doubted Mi Ja’s assertions, refusing to believe that the man she loved could hide such a significant truth from her.
To uncover the truth, Ji Young meets with Pil Seung to confront him about whether he knew she was Do Ra as soon as he returned from his business trip. He was speechless upon hearing this because, above all, he wanted Ji Young to live as Ji Young and move past the traumatic past. However, Ji Young was deeply hurt that Pil Seung had known all along and felt betrayed by his feigned ignorance. Despite Pil Seung’s explanations, Ji Young refused to listen, consumed by the distorted memories fed to her by her mother, Mi Ja.

Do Jun finally returns home to reunite with Do Ra and the entire family. Despite this, Ji Young is still adjusting to the new situation. Pil Seung takes the opportunity to meet with Ji Young and explains his decision not to reveal her identity as Do Ra. He recounts how, as Ji Young, she once fainted upon glimpsing her past memories. At that time, she confided in him that she didn’t want to remember her past because it seemed like a painful memory. So he chose to keep it a secret for her sake. However, Ji Young feels betrayed that such a significant secret was kept from her, regardless of the reasons given.

Trying to recover from her breakup with Pil Seung, Ji Young had no choice but to face reality and make an effort to adjust to the new life that she should have been living as Do Ra.

Jin Dan, the investor of GOGO Entertainment, refused to accept Ji Young as the lead actress in Pil Seung’s drama. He believed it was inappropriate for a director to cast a rookie actress due to personal romantic feelings. Despite Pil Seung making it clear to everyone that they had broken up, Jin Dan remained adamant.
Pil Seung remains determined to win back Ji Young’s heart, reassuring her that he is on her side and will always support her. In addition, he confronts Mi Ja, cautioning her not to repeat the mistakes she made when Do Ra was alive and not to interfere with Ji Young’s life.

One day during Pil Seung’s shoot, an accident occurred where Soo Yeon, the head of GOGO Entertainment, saved Pil Seung, and they were both rushed to the hospital. Fortunately, no one was seriously injured. However, when Soo Yeon woke up in the hospital and exclaimed, “No, not my Pil Seung!” his family found this reaction very peculiar.
