“Beauty and Mr. Romantic” Episodes 3 & 4 Recap and Trailer Breakdown

Here are the highlights of episodes 3 & 4 of “Beauty and Mr. Romantic”.

“Beauty and Mr. Romantic” Episode 3 & 4 Recap:

• Geum Ja spots a strange woman who is smothering her in-law, the house owner. She is beyond shocked because she believes this woman is relatively young compared to her in-law, and she goes to tell her family about this shocking news.
• Dae Chung meets with Do Ra at an amusement park. He is surprised by the way she is dressed because she looks way more mature than usual. But regardless, they enjoy their time on the rollercoaster rides. Do Ra, who tries to impress Dae Chung too much, reveals her stuffed bra to Dae Chung—how embarrassing! Do Ra expresses her feelings to Dae Chung, but he coldly rejects her. Dae Chung explains why he does not have any choice but to reject her feelings because he needs to study hard to pay off his gratitude to his parents who raised him until now. He promises to Do Ra to accept her feelings when she is 20 years old.
• Mi Ja comes home full of shopping bags in both hands with her children. Geum Ja finds this very odd because she knows Mi Ja is suffering from poverty. Then Mi Ja slowly infers that Mi Ja is probably dating a very rich, old man to spoil her financially. When her in-law/house owner leaves home looking fine as if he was going on a date, Geum Ja follows him and spots him again with a strange woman. He even takes this woman to a jewelry shop and buys her an expensive necklace. She runs to Sun Young to tell her about this bombshell news, but Sun Young has already heard from her neighbor that Mr. Kim has taken out 30,000 dollars to give to Mi Ja.
• All the family assumes Mi Ja is a gold digger. Sun Young takes the lead to confront her, but Mi Ja refutes every single accusation made against her. Sun Young also confronts her father as to why he just gave such big money away to Mi Ja, but he tells her that it is because he likes her and he did it out of his own will. Sun Young gives up and apologizes to Mi Ja for wrongly accusing her and even asks her politely to go out with her lonely father if Mi Ja feels the same way. Mi Ja startles and treats Sun Young as if she is talking nonsense and continues by saying, “If you were I, would you want to fool around with an old grandpa?” To make matters worse, Sun Young’s father accidentally eavesdrops on their conversation, falls to the ground in a heart attack, and eventually passes away.
• The family blames Mi Ja for causing the death of Mr. Kim. Mi Ja hurriedly packs and leaves the house immediately.
• After leaving the house, Do Ra works her butt off to support the family as a nightclub singer and constantly auditions to get a role in a drama. Do Ra finally gets the role, and out of happiness, she runs to Dae Chung’s place to let him know the news. Sun Young sees Do Ra and yells at her to leave immediately and she wants nothing to do with Mi Ja’s family.
• Years have passed, and Do Ra is one of the top stars in Korea. She lives a very busy life as a superstar. On the other hand, Dae Chung, now Pil Seung, grew up to be a director in a broadcasting company. Pil Seung gets designated to be a director on the upcoming drama and meets Do Ra as one of the cast. It was an awkward situation because first, he was the only one recognizing Do Ra as his childhood friend. Then secondly, she rejects being in the drama due to her busy schedule.
• Reluctantly, Pil Seung pays a visit to Do Ra to persuade her again to be the cast of the upcoming drama. However, he was no help. He messes it all up by just agreeing to why she rejected the drama. Pil Seung is super relieved that Do Ra wasn’t swayed.
• Pil Seung is almost on the verge of getting fired, he begs and begs to have Do Ra back to the drama. But not because of Pil Seung, but because she hears that the investor in the drama will pay her whatever money she wants to be paid, she decides to be part of the drama.
• Everyone is happy now and the staff and cast go out for dinner and for drinks. When Do Ra is going to the bathroom, she encounters a prick who talks down on her and makes sexual remarks. But here comes a hero Pil Seung who makes this prick sincerely apologize to Do Ra and also tells the prick that actors should never be looked down on and they should be respected because they are not the people selling their looks but who share their beautiful souls with the viewers. Do Ra is very touched by his words. She offers him a handshake as a gesture to the success of their upcoming drama together and then she realizes that she has seen him somewhere before.

“Beauty and Mr. Romantic” Episode 5 Trailer breakdown:

Do Ra finally comes to the realization that this Pil Seung guy, who is the director of the drama she is shooting, is also Dae Chung from her childhood memories. She used to have a big crush on him but could not believe she would meet him this way.

Out of jealousy and childhood revenge, she flirts with her fellow actor to make Pil Seung jealous.
