Meanwhile, Se Ri starts falling even harder for Bum Soo after he quietly buys her a new pair of shoes when her heels start to hurt. Mi Ae sees her daughter smiling beside him—and she’s floored.

Dong Seok, on the other hand, starts feeling strange—especially with his heart. Convinced he has angina, he heads to the doctor. His heart has been pounding randomly, and it’s getting harder to ignore.

But Dong Seok, having overheard everything, rushes to Sokcho himself—determined to save Kwang Sook from this persistent admirer.
Back in Seoul, Bum Soo is blindsided when his ex-wife—the one who left him and their daughter for an older, wealthier man—comes crawling back. She begs him for a chance to see Ha Ni before her wedding. As tensions rise, Se Ri walks in on the emotional confrontation and finds herself feeling deeply uncomfortable. Later, she quietly comforts Bum Soo.
Mi Ae starts to sense something’s off with Se Ri, especially when her daughter begins avoiding Gyul—her soon-to-be husband. After doing some digging, Mi Ae uncovers the truth: Se Ri has developed feelings for Bum Soo. This stirs up old memories, as Mi Ae and Bum Soo were once tied together through the Eagle Brewery.

Eventually, Sang Nam corners Kwang Sook in Sokcho, begging her to stay longer and spend time with him. Though clearly uncomfortable, she agrees to dinner. He pushes her to drink, but Kwang Sook keeps her distance, cold and guarded. Just when things get tense, Dong Seok arrives at the restaurant, pretending it’s all a coincidence. He steps in to save her from the situation. Sang Nam, drunk and frustrated, confronts Dong Seok and accuses him of having feelings for Kwang Sook—before throwing a punch. But Dong Seok, who trained in judo, quickly shuts it down. After the chaos, Kwang Sook quietly thanks Dong Seok for stepping in.
On the drive back to Seoul, Dong Seok sees Kwang Sook in a completely new light. Her quiet kindness, her loyalty to her late husband’s brothers—it all hits him. She’s a genuinely good person, and his heart knows it.
Se Ri, still restless about Bum Soo’s ex-wife showing up unannounced, can’t let it go. Mi Ae, desperate to stop things from escalating, keeps Se Ri home from school and fast-tracks her wedding to Gyul—hoping to keep her daughter from falling any deeper.
