“Beauty and Mr. Romantic" Episodes 37 & 38 Recap

Sang Gu can’t shake the thought that Jin Dan might be his biological son. After hearing this unsettling comment from him, she starts to wonder too—what if Jin Dan really is Sang Gu’s son? Determined to find out the truth, she collects a strand of Jin Dan’s hair to submit for a DNA test.

Being appointed the CEO is a significant achievement, and Pil Seung might feel a mix of excitement, pride, responsibility, and perhaps a bit of nervousness or pressure.
Ji Young became a megahit in her very first drama as the second lead, leading to her being cast as the main lead in her next drama. This was monumental news for her, and Pil Seung felt ecstatic seeing her success. She undergoes a complete makeover for her new role and refines her countryside dialect.

Ae Gyo is shaken when she discovers that Jin Dan is Sang Gu’s biological son, not the son of the company’s chairman. This revelation explains why Ae Gyo and Jin Dan lived affluent lives despite the negative comments about her being the chairman’s mistress and Jin Dan being a son born out of wedlock. Determined, Ae Gyo endured everything to secure a position of power for her son.

Ji Young finds herself at a crossroads as she begins to partially regain her memories and realizes what Pil Seung meant to her. Though she’s in a romantic relationship with Jin Dan, she struggles to feel a genuine connection with him. In an attempt to grow closer, Jin Dan makes a bold suggestion: they should go on a trip together to become more comfortable with each other. But, Ji Young refuses.
Ji Young requests an advance payment from GOGO Entertainment to pay off her debt to Jin Dan, aiming to free herself from the coerced romantic relationship with him.
Ji Young believed her down payment had covered half of what Mi Ja borrowed from Jin Dan. However, Jin Dan is unaware of any payment. Furious, Ji Young rushes home to confront Mi Ja and discovers that her mother hasn’t repaid the money. Overhearing the confrontation, Do Sik and Do Jun become enraged on Ji Young’s behalf.
While working on a shoot, Ji Young accidentally gets hurt and hits her head hard on the floor. Following the incident, she starts to notice herself blushing more and more in front of Pil Seung.

Ji Young begins flashing back to her past memories but only recalls the negative ones, particularly when Pil Seung asked her to stay away and she ended up throwing herself off a cliff. That was the day Pil Seung was heartless towards Do Ra and refused to believe her. In response, Do Ra ended things with Pil Seung, telling him she wouldn’t trouble him with her romantic feelings anymore.
Pil Seung is invited to Jin Taek’s home for dinner, where Jin Taek takes particular interest in him after realizing that Pil Seung is Soo Yeon’s biological son. After the meal, Jin Taek has a conversation with Pil Seung and warmly invites him to visit anytime he wants to spend time with Ma Ri.
Sang Gu discovers that Jin Dan is his biological son. Ae Gyo pleads with him to keep this secret and not interfere, so Jin Dan can ascend to the throne of the chaebol family.

Ji Young recalls only negative memories with Pil Seung and positive ones with Jin Dan. As a result, she decides to give her relationship with Jin Dan another chance, hoping to fall in love with him.
Pil Seung apologizes to Ji Young for being harsh on one of the days she remembers, though she doesn’t know the full context behind his reaction. He asks her not to let this situation or her feelings interfere with her career now that she’s the main lead.

While filming a scene for her new drama, Ji Young suddenly recalls a traumatic event where Jin Dan locked her in a villa room until she agreed to comply. The memories come flooding back, including everything about her past and what Pil Seung truly meant to her. Overwhelmed with emotion, she breaks down in tears, realizing how much she hurt Pil Seung, who, despite it all, remained by her side like a fool.

With all her memories restored, Ji Young packs her bags and leaves home, declaring she will no longer live with Mi Ja or identify as her daughter.

Meanwhile, Jin Dan causes a significant loss in the company, putting Jin Taek in a serious situation.

Noticing a change in Ji Young, Pil Seung suspects her memories have returned and asks her directly.
