“Beauty and Mr. Romantic" Episodes 41 & 42 Recap

Everyone is deeply concerned after Pil Seung is admitted to the ICU for critical surgery. The doctors warn that his condition is so severe that he might not survive the night. However, after hours of surgery, Pil Seung pulls through.
Ji Young’s grandmother’s amnesia worsens, leading her to mistake Mi Ja for her daughter. Desperate for money, Mi Ja seizes the opportunity to get close to her, eventually trying to persuade her to bequeath some of her assets to her.
During Jin Taek’s investigation into Pil Seung’s accident, he discovered that the car involved was unregistered and the incident was intentional. After waking up, Pil Seung recalls Ji Young’s confession of being Do Ra. He is confused about whether this memory is accurate or a result of his disorientation during the accident.

After recovering, Pil Seung resumes his acting career. Jin Taek offers to adopt him, but Ae Kyo is outraged and questions Sun Young about the adoption, though Sun Young is unaware. Soo Yeon apologizes for the lack of communication, explaining that Ma Ri needs a guardian and the APP Group needs an heir, which is why Jin Taek proposed the adoption.
Sun Young encourages Pil Seung to view the adoption positively, assuring him that while he will take on responsibilities for the APP Group, he will also have a significantly improved life.
Ji Young investigates to clear Do Ra of illegal sponsorship allegations. Pil Seung reveals that Do Ra was framed and that a paid actor was involved. Ji Young, in tears, thanks him and admits that she is Do Ra. Pil Seung is relieved to have Do Ra back, but Do Ra feels guilty and cannot forgive herself for her past actions. She wishes to remain as Ji Young and asks Pil Seung to follow her decision.
Mi Ja, still struggling with gambling, steals gold from Ji Young’s grandmother.

Jin Dan discovers that Ae Kyo has been meeting with someone who seems to be a gigolo named Sang Gu and demands he stay away from Ae Kyo. Despite his desire to reveal that Jin Dan is his son, Sang Gu suppresses this information.
Pil Seung helps Ji Young clear Do Ra’s name and the wrongful accusations against her. As Ji Young regains her memories as Do Ra, they express their long-held romantic feelings for each other. Jin Dan, witnessing this, reacts angrily and publicly announces his engagement to Ji Young

Mi Ja, initially uninterested in Ma Ri and her youngest son Do Jun, changes her attitude dramatically upon learning Ma Ri is the APP Group CEO’s daughter. She now hopes for Do Jun to become a chaebol family’s son-in-law.

Ji Young is devastated by Jin Dan’s blatant public engagement announcement. She feels trapped and expresses her desire to sever all ties with Jin Dan to Pil Seung. Pil Seung decides to accept Jin Taek’s adoption offer to gain enough power to support Ji Young.

Upon learning of Pil Seung’s decision to be adopted by Jin Taek, Jin Dan confronts him. While Pil Seung is with Ji Young, Jin Dan grabs him by the collar and punches him. Ji Young tries to intervene, but Jin Dan pushes her down. Pil Seung rushes to help her but mistakenly calls her Do Ra, shocking Jin Dan.

Sang Gu discovers that Pil Seung has taken Jin Dan’s place as the chairman’s adopted son.
Those negatively affected by Pil Seung’s adoption begin searching for any flaws that could discredit him.
Ji Young is astonished to receive an offer for a major beverage commercial, especially as a rookie actress, with a substantial guarantee. However, she learns that Jin Dan’s investment in her is behind the offer, binding her to him.
Pil Seung reassures Do Ra that he will do everything in his power to ensure her safety and protect her from undesirable situations.
