“Beauty and Mr. Romantic” Episode 43 & 44 Recap:

• Jin Dan and Pil Seung are sent to the police station after their fistfight. Jin Dan remains enraged and explains that his jealousy and disbelief over Pil Seung being adopted as Jin Taek’s son led to the altercation.

• Sang Gu learns that Pil Seung will become the chairman of APP Group. Resentful, Sang Gu, who is currently living as a tenant in Pil Seung’s family home, begins to harbor animosity towards Pil Seung’s family.
• Ma Ri publicly announces her relationship with her personal driver, Do Jun. Jin Taek, however, feels that Do Jun is not a suitable match for Ma Ri. In contrast, Soo Yeon is delighted, celebrating Ma Ri’s first boyfriend.

• Ji Young’s grandmother discovers that her gold bar is missing. Unbeknownst to her, Mi Ja had stolen it while the grandmother was asleep. Mi Ja’s greed extends further when she meets Ma Ri, knowing her as Do Jun’s girlfriend and to be from a wealthy family. Mi Ja plays the victim and requests a large sum of money. Naive Ma Ri sends the money immediately. Overjoyed, Mi Ja spends it all on gambling. Worried, Jin Taek begins to investigate where the money went.

• Jin Taek summons Do Jun to explain why Ma Ri’s money was sent to his mother, Mi Ja. Do Jun, who is clueless, is not believed by Jin Taek and is subsequently fired. Humiliated in front of Ma Ri and her family, Do Jun apologizes deeply and rushes home to confront Mi Ja. Do Sik and Do Ra are shocked to learn of Mi Ja’s deceit and are even more dismayed to find out she has squandered all the money. As they are discussing the situation, police officers arrive, investigating a report of stolen gold bars. They discover that Mi Ja sold the gold to a pawn shop. Do Sik and the others can no longer tolerate Mi Ja’s actions and decide to sever ties with her.
• Do Ra helps Do Jun pay off his debt to Ma Ri, while Do Sik pleads with Jin Taek, insisting that Do Jun would never harm Ma Ri.

• Jin Dan continues to express his affection for Ji Young, even sending a food truck for her drama staff. He publicly flaunts his feelings to underscore his claim that Ji Young will marry him, making her a captive in the public eye. Heartbroken, Pil Seung devises a grand plan to stop this. He takes Do Ra to a romantic bridge and proposes to her.
• Jin Taek arranges a dinner with Jin Dan and Pil Seung to make a significant announcement. He reveals that Pil Seung will officially become part of the family. Jin Dan reacts poorly and demands that Pil Seung break up with Ji Young in exchange for his acceptance into the family. Pil Seung refuses, insisting he will not end his relationship with Ji Young and that they plan to marry soon.
• Furious, Jin Dan confronts Ji Young to verify if she is marrying Pil Seung. Repulsed by his behavior, Ji Young threatens to call the police.
• Jin Dan and Pil Seung’s families are shocked to learn that Pil Seung is steadfast in marrying Ji Young despite Jin Dan’s interference. Sun Young meets Ji Young to confirm the marriage. They are incredulous that Ji Young agreed to marry Pil Seung even after the public announcement of Jin Dan’s engagement to her.
• Soo Yeon and Sun Young meet with Pil Seung to dissuade him from marrying Ji Young. They threaten to cut ties with him if he persists. Pil Seung remains undeterred and tells Ji Young that they must remain resolute.
• Ae Gyo asks Sang Gu to leave Pil Seung’s family home, but he refuses, citing ulterior motives. Sang Gu wants to stay as a tenant to spy on Pil Seung’s family and find flaws to discredit him.

• Pil Seung confides in his father about his true feelings for Ji Young, revealing that she is Do Ra, his long-lost love. Initially skeptical, Pil Seung’s father eventually believes him and agrees to support the marriage, advising Pil Seung to disclose the truth to Jin Taek, who is set to adopt him.

• Pil Seung informs Jin Taek of his decision to marry Ji Young, hoping to avoid future complications for APP Group. While Jin Taek understands Pil Seung’s desperation, he cannot approve of the marriage upon learning that Mi Ja is Ji Young’s mother, as it poses too great a risk. Pil Seung expresses that he will even give up the chairman position to marry Ji Young.
• Ji Young reveals to her brothers, Do Sik and Do Ra, that she has regained her memories as Do Ra and plans to marry Pil Seung. They are pleased with her decision.
• Jin Dan closely monitors Ji Young, noticing her increasing closeness to Do Jun and Do Sik. He only knows that Ji Young is living with them because Mi Ja is her agency CEO, so he finds it very strange.

• Mi Ja strongly opposes Ji Young’s marriage to Pil Seung. Unaware that Ji Young has regained her past memories, Mi Ja continues to act as a greedy mother who wants Ji Young to marry a wealthy man for her own benefit.

• On the day of the family meeting before Ji Young and Pil Seung’s wedding, Mi Ja visits Ji Young in a drunken state, demanding that Ji Young take her with her. Ji Young refuses, and Mi Ja’s behavior escalates as she demands a million dollars. Ji Young kicks Mi Ja out, who then threatens to expose Ji Young’s true identity as Do Ra if her demands are not met. Jin Dan, who has been stalking Ji Young eavesdrops, becomes even more enraged.
• Despite the turmoil, Pil Seung and Ji Young’s relationship grows stronger, and their marriage proceeds. Jin Dan, however, remains confused and furious that Pil Seung and Mi Ja were aware of Ji Young’s true identity all along. He plots to make them suffer as he has.
• On the wedding day of Ji Young and Pil Seung, everyone celebrates the couple except Jin Taek, who does not attend the ceremony despite adopting Pil Seung as his son.

• As Ji Young walks down the aisle in a beautiful dress, a group of journalists bursts in, flashing cameras and asking, “Does Director Ko know you are Do Ra? Or did he know from the beginning, and you deceived us all?” This leaves Ji Young stunned and speechless.

• Now that the entire world knows Ji Young is actually Do Ra, Pil Seung’s family, except for his father who was already aware, is astonished by the unbelievable revelation.
• In response to the uproar, Pil Seung and Ji Young decide to leave the city until the news settles. They retreat to a secluded cabin to avoid detection. However, early one morning, Pil Seung wakes up to find the bed empty and Ji Young missing. This immediately triggers memories of a past incident when Do Ra contemplates ending her life, causing Pil Seung immense worry.
• Ji Young, having left a final note for Pil Seung, heads to a nearby beach.
