On August 19, on “Half-Star Hotel in Lost Island”, the 0.5-star desert island welcomed global superstar BTS Jin and B1A4’s San Deul as they joined forces with Ahn Jung Hwan and Kim Nam Il. Chef Lee Yeon Bok and his son Lee Hong Woon took on the culinary duties, while Boom, Kim Dae Ho, and a self-proclaimed close friend of Jin, Park Myung Soo, joined the studio to discuss the desert island’s operations.

Choosing “Half-Star Hotel in Lost Island” as his first public broadcast variety show after his military discharge, BTS Jin was excited about catching a big fish as soon as he boarded the boat to the desert island. Upon arrival, Jin greeted Lee Yeon Bok warmly, only for Ahn Jung Hwan to remind him, “Unload your bags and get to work,” setting the tone for the day. Despite having only rested for one day since his discharge, Ahn Jung Hwan warned Jin that “one day is enough,” hinting at a challenging day ahead.

Jin and San Deul’s first task was to place bait in an eel trap. Both struggled with the strong smell of the bait. Despite Ahn Jung Hwan’s warning that “the smell lasts for two days if you touch your nose with baited hands,” Jin proposed a game where the loser of rock-paper-scissors would have to deal with the smell. After a round of rock-paper-scissors, Jin ended up being the unlucky one, much to everyone’s amusement as he faced the punishment.

Jin Took the Lead to Impress Important Guests

On this day, Jin stepped up to impress the important guests by preparing his favorite dish, “mulhoe” (a cold raw fish mixed with sauce). His impressive knife skills as he neatly sliced freshly caught seafood captured everyone’s attention. Under Chef Lee Yeon Bok’s guidance, Jin even skillfully prepared sea cucumbers, which he had never handled before. Additionally, he created a hidden menu item—abalone kimbap—using abalone innards.

Guests who tasted the food prepared by Lee Yeon Bok and Jin were full of praise. One guest, enjoying Jin’s kimbap and mulhoe, was so moved by the deliciousness that they nearly cried. Chef Lee Yeon Bok also gave high praise for Jin’s cooking, even suggesting they go into business together.
