Hey KOCONUTS! New year has come! To have a fresh start of the year, it is fitting to have KOCOWA Korner to be about given a chance themed K-Dramas.
Every month we’ll create a blog post to talk about different K-Drama related topics.
It’s a new year, and for many that means a fresh start. A chance to reflect on the past and set new goals. That new goal could be eating healthy or going to bed earlier. Or pursuing a new career in a new city. Whatever it may be, it’s inspiring watching people work toward their goals. That’s why I adore K-dramas about fresh starts. From city slickers moving to small towns looking for a semblance of peace to characters on a quest of self-love, these stories often make me want to change my life for the better.
That’s why January’s KOCOWA Korner is all about fresh starts! What’s your favorite drama about starting over? It can be about a character starting over mentally, physically, or career-wise. One of my favorite K-dramas about starting over is “Wok of Love”. It’s about an ex-gang member named Doo Chil-sung who opens a run down Chinese restaurant. He does this so other ex-gang members who want a fresh start can have employment. Chil-sung is soon joined by a disgraced star chef and a bankrupt heiress with a love of jajangmyun. It’s a sweet story that’ll make you hungry, and its message about everyone deserving a fresh start is heart-warming.
So, what’s your favorite K-Drama about fresh starts? How did it inspire you?
