Unlike the other recap posts, I will not say anything in this first paragraph because then I will be ruining the whole story. But let me tell you this, there is a huge shocker ahead!
Let’s highlight the key recap points from episodes 35 and 36 of “It’s Beautiful Now”.
“It’s Beautiful Now” Episodes 35 & 36 Recap:
- Jung Ja Seats Down with Soo Jung
After Soo Jung’s big family secret revelation and her mother’s passing, Soo Jung really was going through rough times. But to make things worse, Jung Ja was furious that Soo Jung had kept a secret for so long and that she no longer wanted to associate with her. However, after a few days passed, Jung Ja sat down with Soo Jung and tried to show her understanding of what Soo Jung might have gone through all these years. Jung Ja was not entirely cleared up with the angry feelings with Soo Jung, but she comforts Soo Jung by telling her, and now that there are no secrets anymore and they haveit is a clean slate, they can rebuild theirthis relationship from the bottom. Soo Jung was happy that Jung Ja opened up to her, but she still has back and forth feelings of finding her biological parents or just forgetting about them forever.
- Kyung Ae’s Weird Dream
After attending Yoon Jae’s wedding, Kyung Ae and the rest of the family came home to rest. Before going to take a nap, Kyung Ae finds this solid, succulent peach in her kitchen. She couldn’t take her eyes off of it for some reason. Then she goes straight to bed and wakes up to Min Ho’s call. However, when she woke up and explained about this strange dream she had, we can now infer that everything so far was her dream, from going to the kitchen and to holding a peach. Kyung Ae believes this is a ‘tae mong,’, a dream where one of your family members have when one of the females conceive a baby.
- The L Word!
After Yoon Jae’s wedding, the Hyun Jae couple goes on a romantic date afterwards. Hyun Jae stops Mi Rae and tells her he has something to say, and then he drops the L word!! Hyun Jae asks Mi Rae if she feels the same and she responds with, “I am with you because I love you.” It was Yoon Jae’s big day, but also it was a day where Hyun Jae and Mi Rae reaffirm their love for each other. Yoon Jae expresses his feeling even bigger and tells Mi Rae that, after watching Yoon Jae get married, that he also felt like he wanteds to get married, too, with someone that he loves right at the moment.
- Yoon Jae and Hae Joon’s Honeymoon
After their wedding, they go straight to a fancy hotel room to get some rest and move on to their honeymoon stage! 🙂 Hae Joon cutely complains about how she had to go on a long diet to fit into herthe wedding dress and because of that she is super starving. They order room service, and when the food finally arrives, Hae Joon starts to retch and rushes to the toilet. At a split second, Hyun Jae thinks that Hae Joon might be pregnant. Hyun Joon storms off and runs as fast as he can to a 24 hour pharmacy to get a pregnant tester stick. And turns out to be POSITIVE!!! (Why am I so excited for this, as if it was my family member LOL!!) Hae Joon is pregnant!! Yoon Jae tells this great news to Kyung Chul, and everyone in the family is immensely happy about it! They visit the Gynecology clinic to get an accurate a better pregnancy result but hear not pleasant news. If the positive sign is too vague, it is highly likely that the pregnant stick result might not be valid. Hae Joon took a blood test and the result came out negative. Hae Joon seems so depressed. Yoon Jae comforts her and tells her it is okay if she is not pregnant, and if it is difficult to get pregnant, he is even willing to adopt. Yoon Jae then reveals thatabout his father was an being the adoptee. When Kyung Ae calls them to have them visit, Hae Joon had no choice but to hide the truth about her not being pregnant since Kyung Ae seems too excited.
- Hyun Jae Meets Mi Rae’s Family
Hyun Jae visits Mi Rae’s place since he was invited to lunch by Soo Jung. Jung Ja was beating Hyun Jae with questions, but Hyun Jae answered every one of them. After lunch, Hyun Jae and Mi Rae go for a walk where they talk about Hyun Jae’s father, Min Ho. How Min Ho wants to work at an adoption organization to help peoplethe ones in need. Mi Rae comes home and tells this to Soo Jung and adds that she should find her biological parents and unravel the question marks she’sSoo Jung had all these years.
- Yu Na Meets Soo Jae
Jung Hoo asks Yu Na to go shopping for bakery ingredients. After they finished, they went to go for lunch. When they entered the building, they encountered Soo Jae wiping the floor. (How uncomfortable!) Soo Jae looks away, and so does Yu Na. But, Soo Jae stops her and says, “Long time no see.” Jung Hoo and Yu Na went on to go eat, but Yu Na seemed so down. Yu Na cannot take it anymore, and she goes out to talk to Soo Jae, but she is a little too late. Soo Jae is no longer there.
- Hyun Jae Proposes to Mi Rae!
Mi Rae was worried when she met Hyun Jae after work. He talks about his exhausting day and this special client of his that made it even harder. He tells Mi Rae that this client and him didn’t have the perfect relationship from the beginning, but as time went by, she thanked him with a gift. But the gift was not to him but to his wife. (At this point, Mi Rae figures out that he is talking about her) He then hands her the present that she once gave to him when she was his client in the past. (Mi Rae gave this gift to Hyun Jae to give to his wife, but now he is giving it back to her…do you guys get it?!?! …Now that she is about to be his wife… and the rest is up to your imagination)
- Soo Jung Makes a Big Decision
Soo Jung visits the police station after she finally decides to find her biological parents. She registers her DNA to see if there was any DNA that matched hers. She has dual feelings about finding her biological parents since she can only infer that she was left abandoned after she was hit. She wants to find her parents, yet she doesn’t want to.
- Hyun Jae’s Marriage
When Yoon Jae summons the whole family to tell them that Hae Joon actually is not pregnant, Hyun Jae brings good news. Hyun Jae is getting married to Mi Rae. Everyone is super excited.
- Jung Hoo’s Feelings Toward Yu Na
Jung Hoo waits for Yu Na until she gets off work. He then offers her a ride home, and during the ride, he confesses that he likes her. She responds to him by saying, “I’m sorry, I am not ready to meet someone new,” but he tells her no pressure.
- Mi Rae and Hyun Jae’s Family Meet
In Korea, traditionally, the family in-laws have a pre-meeting well before a wedding is arranged. Hyun Jae’s family and Mi Rae’s family plan on meeting each other. Everyone is so excited to get ready for this grand meeting, but a phone call stops Soo Jung. It is a call from a Family Support Center, and that there is a matching DNA from a male that was registered from a long, long time ago. Anyway, she asks them to not tell the male about this news yet because she needs some time to think on her own. When Jung Hoo picks up a macaron he ordered to bring to the family meeting, he misses one box and Yu Na rushes to give it to him. He was already at the restaurant where the family was supposed to meet. Yu Na hides behind Jung Hoo when she spots Kyung Ae passing by! Anyway, Jung Hoo goes back to the restaurant where he encounters Soo Jae, Hyun Jae’s youngest brother! It is not the first time they meet with each other, as we all know. They are both super shocked.
- Kyung Chul Gets a Phone Call
Kyung Chul gets a phone call and receives shocking news that his long-awaited daughter is finally found. He was sobbing with joy, but because his daughter does not want to meet right now, he has no choice but to wait. The policeman tries to help by calling Soo Jung to sway her into meeting him sooner. Soo Jung finally decides to meet his father and waits for him at the Family Support Center. Little does she know, her biological father is someone so close to her, Kyung Chul! When they finally meet, they are speechless.

Soo Jung blames Kyung Chul for all the obstacles she faced over the years while being an adoptee.
Other family members don’t know that Kyung Chul will be meeting Soo Jung…
Things got real complicated before Mi Rae and Hyun Jae’s wedding, and Soo Jung asks Mi Rae if she can rethink this whole marriage again.
There was a big cliffhanger leaving us with Hyun Jae crying. Now we can somewhat infer that there might be a hurdle between Hyun Jae and Mi Rae’s marriage due to what happened with Soo Jung and Kyung Chul. What will happen?…
