“Our Golden Days” Episodes 13 & 14 Recap:
- Eun Oh realizes that while her mother defended her when Gang Oh asked such a ridiculous question, deep down, she was still struggling, missing him. Overcome with emotions, Eun Oh breaks down in tears at a park, only to be picked on by strangers. Just then, Sang Chul steps in, pretending to be her father to protect her. He stays by her side until she calms down, and Eun Oh thanks him, especially because he reminds her so much of her late father. What she doesn’t know is that Sang Chul is actually Ji Hyuk’s father.
- At her lowest emotional state, Eun Oh gets an unexpected lift when her childhood best friend, Woo Jin, returns to Seoul. Their long history and deep bond bring her comfort, and Woo Jin immediately notices something is troubling her. When Eun Oh finally opens up, she feels a sense of relief she hasn’t felt in a long time.
- Meanwhile, Soo Bin continues her relentless pursuit of Seong Jae. She even shows up with a bouquet of flowers, bravely confessing her feelings. But Seong Jae rejects her, his heart already belongs to someone else. After repeated confessions, he nonchalantly reveals the truth to push her away: he was once married and is now divorced. Soo Bin is stunned, since dating a divorced man was never part of her plan.
- Ji Hyuk reflects on his past sacrifices. He once dreamed of studying architecture abroad. But when Ji Hyuk’s grandfather fell ill, Sang Chul’s had to give up what was saved for Ji Hyuk’s university, and Ji Hyuk quietly let go of his own dream of studying overseas.
- Ji Hyuk, seeing Eun Oh’s business struggles, suddenly proposes that they join forces to create synergy. Eun Oh flatly rejects the idea, but Ji Hyuk doesn’t give up. Their discussion quickly turns into an argument, leaving things unresolved.
- Later, Seong Jae takes Eun Oh out for a lighthearted movie date, and she spends the day happily by his side. Ji Hyuk notices her absence and, to his own surprise, feels a pang of jealousy he can’t quite explain.
- Elsewhere, Ji Wan continues to watch over Young Ra, who, despite her guarded nature, slowly starts to open up to him. When Ji Wan finds her tablet in his car, he discovers a webcomic that captivates him. Eager to read more, he asks where to find the next episode, only to learn that Young Ra is the creator herself.
- The entire family eventually learns that Ji Hyuk is alive and living in Seoul. Sang Chul already knew, but he remained stubborn, refusing to accept Ji Hyuk back home despite his son’s desire to reconnect.
- During a meeting with Seong Hee, Eun Oh learns a startling truth: Seong Hee once had a lost daughter. In return, Eun Oh shares her own secret: she is adopted. The two women exchange heartfelt stories, but Seong Hee may be hiding something more.
- Later, Eun Oh tracks down Gang Oh, only to find her mother nearby, crying as she watches him from a distance. Witnessing her mother’s pain, Eun Oh reluctantly agrees to partner with Ji Hyuk, not out of trust, but for the sake of earning more money.
