Everything That Happened in “Our Golden Days” Episodes 37 and 38

The family is plunged into deep mourning when it’s revealed that the victim of the car accident was not Ok Rye herself, but Sang Cheol’s mother. As grief settles over the household, Seong Jae and Yeong Ra rush to the funeral to offer their condolences. Despite Seong Hee’s firm attempts to stop her, Yeong Ra refuses to stay away and goes on her own, following her heart rather than her mother’s orders.

Yeong Ra’s decision only fuels Seong Hee’s frustration. Unhappy with her daughter’s defiant attitude, Seong Hee begins plotting a more drastic plan to completely remove Ji Wan from Yeong Ra’s life. Still, Ji Wan remains steadfast, continuing to protect Yeong Ra as her bodyguard, unwilling to step away no matter the pressure.
While recovering, Eun Oh overhears news that Ji Hyuk’s grandmother has passed away. Though she is still weak, she goes to pay her respects. In a quiet, tender moment, she brings Ji Hyuk the porridge he once made with his grandmother, offering comfort in the only way she can.

Meanwhile, Bo A returns after abandoning Ji Hyuk at the altar and asks to meet him. She apologizes for her father’s actions, but Ji Hyuk is confused and demands an explanation. When the truth finally comes out, he is devastated. Bo A’s father had humiliated Sang Cheol by reimbursing the wedding expenses with a check, treating Ji Hyuk as if he were nothing more than a transaction. Enraged, Sang Cheol tore the check apart, asking if that was all his son was worth to them. Overcome with guilt, Ji Hyuk breaks down, apologizing to Sang Cheol and begging for forgiveness.

Another shock awaits Ji Hyuk when he learns that Seong Jae and Su Bin are secretly dating. Knowing Seong Jae is a divorced heir to a powerful conglomerate, Ji Hyuk firmly believes he should never be involved with Su Bin. Seong Jae pleads with him to respect the 100-day agreement he and Su Bin made, but Ji Hyuk coldly orders him to never contact her again.

Seong Jae later confesses to his father that he is seeing someone, insisting it is nothing serious and that he wants no interference. His words spark Jin Seok’s suspicion, and he asks Seong Hee to investigate. When Seong Hee discovers that the woman is Su Bin, Ji Hyuk’s younger sister, she panics. Revealing this truth could also expose her long-buried secret involving Woo Jin. To protect herself, she confronts Su Bin directly, warning her to end the relationship or risk putting her family and Seong Jae in danger. Around the same time, Seong Jae resigns from his position under his father, choosing to run his grandfather’s company instead and sever financial ties so he can stand on his own, free from his father’s shadow.

Finally, Ji Hyuk begins to face the damage he has caused in the past, especially to Sang Cheol and Eun Oh. He sincerely apologizes to Eun Oh, asking for forgiveness. Torn, Eun Oh tells him he is free to follow his feelings, just as she will follow hers. She leaves to meet Sang Cheol in secret, confiding in him instead. When Ji Hyuk later finds Eun Oh’s scarf on the ground, he runs after her, only to freeze in shock. The man standing beside Eun Oh is none other than his father, Sang Cheol.

Su Bin meets Jin Seok face to face to speak honestly about her relationship with Seong Jae, fully aware of the weight his approval carries.
After learning that Eun Oh isn’t just Ji Hyuk’s friend but also his unrequited lover, Sang Cheol can’t help but tease him, taking obvious pleasure in watching his son squirm.
Meanwhile, Eun Oh begins preparing her quiet revenge against Seong Hee alongside Woo Jin. She frequently visits the hospital under the guise of concern, carefully putting her plan into motion. During one of those visits, Yeong Ra accidentally overhears their conversation and uncovers a shocking truth: Woo Jin once had a twin sister.
