“Our Golden Days” Episodes 41 & 42 Recap:
- Eun Oh draws a clear line with Seong Hee. If Seong Hee ever comes near her family again or attempts to interfere in Woo Jin’s life, Eun Oh will expose everything to Jin Seok. The threat hits exactly where it hurts. Terrified, Seong Hee immediately backs down and promises to stay away. But just as Eun Oh turns to leave, Seong Jae pulls up and freezes at the sight of them together. He can’t understand why Eun Oh would be with his stepmother. When he approaches and catches Eun Oh’s stunned reaction, the pieces fall into place. Seong Hee is Eun Oh’s birth mother the same woman who once tried to pressure her into donating her liver. The realization leaves him speechless. Eun Oh is equally shaken when she learns that Seong Hee is Seong Jae’s stepmother. Eun Oh returns home in a daze, followed soon after by an enraged Seong Jae, with a visibly anxious Seong Hee right behind him.

But rather than showing remorse, she focuses only on protecting herself twisting the truth and insisting that exposing her would only hurt everyone involved. She claims Jin Seok needs her, that he’s been happy all this time, and that revealing the truth now would leave him broken and alone. Begging Seong Jae to stay silent for his father’s sake, she leaves him torn. Deep down, Seong Jae believes Jin Seok deserves the truth, yet revealing it would shatter his father and Eun Oh and Ji Hyuk have already asked him to wait.
- Jin Seok eventually tracks down Yeong Ra and brings her home himself. Still determined to leave and pursue what she loves, Yeong Ra refuses to back down. As tensions rise, Seong Hee intervenes, but Jin Seok surprises everyone by conceding. He agrees to let Yeon Ra continue her webtoon career on one condition: she must officially debut within three months. Yeong Ra is overjoyed, knowing she has already debuted. The moment forces Jin Seok to reflect on his failures as a father. He realizes how consumed he’s been by work, especially when it comes to Woo Jin, who is studying abroad. When Woo Jin doesn’t answer his calls or messages, Jin Seok grows uneasy and orders his secretary to contact Woo Jin’s school. What he learns leaves him stunned. Woo Jin had been ill and left school for a liver transplant. Furious and confused, Jin Seok can’t understand why Seong Hee kept something this serious from him.
- Trust completely shattered, Jin Seok secretly has someone follow Seong Hee to uncover everything she’s been hiding. He had trusted her for years with his home and children, but now nothing feels certain. The investigation reveals that Woo Jin has a twin sister, Ji Eun Oh, who recently underwent surgery and left the hospital alone. Jin Seok had always known Woo Jin was a twin, but he was told the other child had died. The truth is far darker.
- As more pieces surface, Jin Seok learns that Seong Jae is already aware of Seong Hee’s schemes and orders him to stay quiet for now. Soon after, the final blow lands. Eun Oh is alive. Seong Hee had claimed her daughter died from illness, yet records show she was declared dead in a car accident just one month before Seong Hee married Jin Seok only to be found again years later as Woo Jin’s liver donor. Realizing he’s been deceived for years, Jin Seok is consumed by rage.
