Meet Bae Nu Ri, a former child star who first gained notoriety as a shaman in the historical romantic comedy, “Moon Embracing The Sun.” Since then, she has excelled in a variety of drama genres and even secured a leading role! You can enjoy some of her productions on KOCOWA, like “Cheat On Me, If You Can,” “Doctor Detective,” “Where Stars Land,” and “The Love in Your Eyes”. No matter what drama she’s in, she always brings her unique personality to the production. She was just born to play the role of Young Yi of “The Love in Your Eyes”! Fans of the show can’t imagine Young Yi portrayed by anyone else.
Today, we will learn more about Bae Nu Ri’s talent, hobbies, and her experience working on the daily series, “The Love in Your Eyes”. Let’s get to know Bae Nu Ri more by asking her questions about her previous works!
Q. What is most memorable from the set of “Cheat On Me, If You Can?”
A. In the middle of filming the drama, Covid-19 got worse, and the filming schedule was a little loose due to heavy rain, so the actors had to wait and stall a lot between the scenes. I was sweating for most of the scenes in the beginning, but by the next shoot the leaves were falling and it was freezing. The seasons passed by so quickly! All the actors put in hard work for a very long time, especially with the intense weather changes, it took a lot of work from many people to complete one scene.
Q. What did you especially like about filming “Cheat On Me, if You Can?” And what do you personally think of this drama?
A. I played the role of “Eom Agent,” one of the elite NIS undercover operatives, and I was able to experience various characters as someone constantly in disguise. Also, because of Cho Yeo Jung, the star from “Parasite” and Ko Jun’s good lead, everyone got along so well even when I didn’t have any overlapping scenes with them. I enjoyed every moment of filming.
Q.. If you could go back in time to shoot “Cheat On Me, If You Can,” what kind of advice would you give to your fellow actors?
A. I think I would only give myself advice because all the other actors played their characters perfectly 🙂 If there is anything that I have to say, then I would like to say thank you to Kim Young Dae, who played Cha Soo Ho, and who I spent the most time on set with. I was able to shoot comfortably and enjoyed the production until the end.
Q. What do you do in your free time?
A. In my downtime, I keep myself super busy deliberately planning new things to learn. I like to experience as many new things as possible. Recently I’ve started to learn English and hopefully one day, I can be fluent 🙂
Q. What Korean dramas or entertainment programs do you enjoy watching?
A. Most recently, I’ve enjoyed watching “Home Alone,” “The Manager,” and “New Journey to the West.” These shows are hysterical, and I love to just sit and laugh. It really relieves any stress that I might be having. I am also a huge fan of ”Reply 1988”, a family drama. It’s a drama that guarantees time well spent, and I recommend you watch this show and all the reruns too!
Q. Is there a role you want to play in the future?
A. I have challenged myself to play in various genres of dramas so far, but there are still so many things I want to try. The genre I want to try next is romantic comedy, full of laughter and warmth. I want to show my lively side and play a character who is loved a lot.
