“Iron Family” Episodes 27 & 28 Recap

Here are the highlights of episodes 27 & 28 of “Iron Family”.

Mu Rim discovers the truth about how his family has hidden a large sum of money, due to Bong Hee’s desperation to help Da Rim recover her eyesight. Mu Rim resents his mother for lying and stealing behind his back, leaving him burdened as a police officer. Bong Hee asks Mu Rim for a favor: to buy her a little more time so she can confess and take sole responsibility.
Tae Woong suggests Seung Don should date Bong Hee, showering her with compliments about what a wonderful woman she is. Although Seung Don dismisses the idea, Tae Woong remains insistent.
Bong Hee gathers Da Rim and Mi Yeon to delegate household tasks in preparation for her possible departure. She even buys a new mattress to hide the money under her bed instead of Man Deuk’s, ensuring she will be blamed if the money is discovered.
Mu Rim’s mother-in-law, a senior police officer, notices his unusual behavior. He seems preoccupied with a serious matter he isn’t sharing. She also becomes suspicious of men loitering near Bong Hee’s dry cleaner’s shop, apparently connected to the missing money. Acting on her hunch, she begins investigating Mu Rim and even checks his car’s dashcam footage.

Gang Ju reaffirms his feelings for Da Rim, and the two share a romantic kiss, symbolizing a deeper connection between them.

Gil Rye undergoes successful surgery to remove a liver tumor. However, upon waking, she begins acting strangely, mentioning her youngest daughter, Mi Yeon, and revealing she let Mi Yeon take money hidden under her mattress. She insists the remaining money should be fairly divided among the family. This revelation shocks most family members, as it is new information to them. Gil Rye also loudly claims she has several billion Korean Won to distribute and asks why the money isn’t under her hospital bed. She questions Bong Hee about moving it under her bed, prompting Bong Hee to dismiss the family, attributing Gil Rye’s behavior to post-surgery delirium.

Finding this suspicious, Cha Rim sneaks into Bong Hee’s room and checks under her mattress. To her shock, she finds stacks of cash. Stunned, she encounters Da Rim and Gang Ju, who reveal they’ve known about the money all along. They explain its backstory, leaving Cha Rim bewildered. Adding to her distress, Gang Ju and Da Rim ask for her help in designing a puffer jacket for Seo Gang Apparel. Reluctantly, Cha Rim becomes an accomplice.

Now united in their secret, they count the money and discover it is 10 billion Korean Won short. They soon realize Mi Yeon has taken the missing amount. Cha Rim and Da Rim confront Mi Yeon, demanding she return the money. Together, they head to a metro locker where Mi Yeon had hidden it. However, upon opening the locker, they find it completely empty.

With 10 billion Korean Won missing, the group is uncertain about what to do next. Panic begins to set in. Uncertainty also sets in as they scramble for a solution.
Because she was desperate for help, Cha Rim went to Tae Woong to request a loan. Nevertheless, the request importantly strains their already fragile relationship, substantially deepening the large tension between them.
Gang Ju poaches a designer from Seung Don’s company for his own business. This move infuriates Seung Don, who vows not to let it go without retaliation.
