A professor  who longs for the detective life again, a judo player who dreams of becoming a cop, and a hacker who wants to become a police officer all get thrown together (for better or for worse, eep) in “Police University,” the latest K-drama from KBS, premiering this month!

If you’ve  been hungry  for a zany comedy, then “Police University” just might be here to satiate your  hunger because this show appears to be all comedy all the time.

Starring Jung Jin Young, Krystal, and Cha Tae Hyun, “Police University” follows the lives of students and professors at the official Police University in Seoul, Korea (if you watched “Come and Hug Me,” it’s the school our hero went to).

Jung Jin Young plays Kang Sun Ho,  a twenty-year-old hacker with a calm mind and lack of greed about anything in life. That is until he meets Oh Kang Hee (played by Krystal). Suddenly, Sun Ho knows what he wants, and it’s Kang Hee.

Kang Hee is a Judo practitioner who has only ever wanted to be a cop. If only her mother wasn’t a gambler. Her mother’s gambling sends Kang Hee to more visits to the police station than Kang Hee’s embarrassment can take, leading to a shrunken sense of self-worth about the entire situation.

Like a good friend, Sun Ho is there to pop her chin up, and they both enroll in the Police University together; Kang Hee to fulfill a lifelong dream, and Sun Ho most likely to be next to Kang Hee.

However, Sun Ho has a bit of history with one of the police university professors. When Sun Ho was a high school student, he got mixed up in a gambling ring (for a noble purpose, of course!) and Dong Man was the detective that busted this ring wide open.

At the time, Dong Man did not arrest Sun Ho, hoping the kid would lead a nice life untarnished by a criminal history. In fact, he probably imagined that is what happened…until Dong Man sees Sun Ho in the Police University and thinks, “Oh no, this kid is nothing but trouble!”

Commence every single tactic known to man to get Sun Ho to quit.

Hijinks erupt, which means we will hopefully have a rollicking good time watching this professor and this student bicker their way to graduation. Along the way, Sun Ho ignites an excitement for teaching inside Dong Man’s heart that he has never experienced outside of the detective life.

Hmm, it looks a bit more like a bromance than a romance, perchance?

Check out the trailer below for a teaser on the hijinks we are to expect in “Police University!” What do you think?

“Police University” starts streaming on KOCOWA this month! So be sure to start your free two-week trial today, and be the first to watch!
