Lee Je Hoon’s “Taxi Driver 2” premiered last week and is already breaking new records during their first episode! It’s no surprise that fans are eagerly tuning into the second season of this revenge thriller.

I have watched the first two episodes of “Taxi Driver 2,” and I can say that they definitely live up to the hype. If you haven’t watched the first season yet, this is now the perfect time to binge-watch the series. Following a taxi company that helps clients seek justice and revenge against those who have wronged them, “Taxi Driver” delves into the depths of human nature, exploring darker themes and thrilling action.

Episode 1 and 2 Recap

Powerful Entrance of Kim Doki and The Rainbow Taxi Company

Taxi Driver 2” kicks off with a powerful message, as Kim Do Ki and his team take on the task of seeking revenge for actual criminals. The opening scene is based on the Nth room scandal that occurred in South Korea, reminding viewers not to forget the victims who suffered.

It’s a thought-provoking start to the new season, and “Taxi Driver 2” will continue to shed light on real-life events, this series encourages viewers to stay aware and vigilant of injustices happening around them.

CEO Jang Talked To Prosecutor Kang

This wouldn’t be one of the highlights of the first episode if it weren’t for CEO Jang mentioning Kang Hanna, the female lead of the first season. I can’t help but miss Esom and hope she will have a cameo in the coming episodes.

The Rainbow Taxi Company Squad is Disbanded

The first episode of “Taxi Driver 2” gave us a glimpse of what happened after the events of the first season. The team was disbanded, and each member went their separate ways. CEO Jang nearly faced imprisonment for their actions in the previous season, while Kim Do Ki remains a taxi driver. Ahn Go Eun has joined the police force, and Kyung Goo and Jin Eon have successfully returned to their previous jobs.

Introduction of the First Case – Missing Son

This is what “Taxi Driver” does best: to bring to light the injustices that victims face within the legal system. The first case of this season involves a father whose son has gone missing. He insists that his son did not run away and instead went abroad to work and support the family financially.

Despite his claims, the police have been unhelpful in resolving the case, and he even considers suicide because he feels helpless. It’s a powerful and emotional introduction to the new season, and it’s clear that the “Taxi Driver” team is dedicated to providing a voice for those who have been wronged by the system.

CEO Jang and Kim Do Ki Started Working On Their First Case

CEO Jang and Kim Do Ki started working on their first case after finding out that the victim was forced to write that letter and sent a signal using morse code. Kim Do Ki sets off to Vietnam to save Dong Jae and other victims of the scam.

It turns out that Lee Dong Jae was promised a legitimate job but instead found himself developing an illegal gambling website for the syndicate. When he refused to comply, he was subjected to torture and forced to stay locked up in his room.

Go Eun, Kyung Goo and Jin Eon Wants To Go Back

Although Ahn Go Eun, Kyung Goo, and Jin Eon have successful careers, they are missing the teamwork and sense of purpose that they felt when they worked together at the Rainbow Taxi Company. Kyung Goo and Jin Eon decide to visit CEO Jang and learn that he is working with Kim Do Ki once again.

CEO Jang calls Ahn Go Eun and asks for her help as the team’s hacker, which leads to the three of them joining forces to assist Kim Do Ki.

Rainbow Taxi Company Starts Their Revenge

Kim Do Ki kicks off his plan by asking for Go Eun’s help. In this case, Do Ki shows a new side of himself as a skilled web developer who developed a game overnight and uses it as a means to gain access to the information they need.

P.S. Lee Je Hoon and Pyo Ye Jin’s chemistry during Do Ki and Go Eun’s first scene together is giving me all the feels. I’m loving the subtle romance between the two.

Wang Tao Zi and Madam Lim Reunion

THIS is one of the highlights of episode 2 because a lot of people are waiting for Madam Lim’s appearance! Her character made a huge impression in the previous season, thanks to her strong presence and the great chemistry she had with Wang Tao Zi, one of Kim Do Ki’s personas. Madam Lim played a crucial role in helping Kim Do Ki complete their plan for revenge.

Kim Do Ki Met the Mastermind of the Syndicate

In the climax of episode 2, the shocking truth was revealed that the mastermind behind the illegal syndicate was actually a police officer and Go Eun’s superior. It was discovered that the reason why the syndicate was able to continue its illegal activities was that the head cop was covering up for them.

With the assistance of Kyung Goo and Jin Eon, Do Ki and the team were able to take revenge by defeating the villains and freeing the victims. However, while confronting the mastermind, he was suddenly shot dead, leaving Do Ki confused about what just happened.

First appearance of New Taxi Driver On Ha Jun

Go Eun, Kyung Goo, and Jin Eon have all left their respective jobs and are back working with the Rainbow Taxi Company. The end of episode 2 showed us a new character who is looking for CEO Jang. Will he be an ally or a foe?

Taxi Driver 2

The first two episodes of “Taxi Driver” reminded me about how it really is the best drama material. The idea of a taxi company serving as a platform for exacting revenge on behalf of wronged victims continues to be a gripping concept.

The show’s ability to connect the victims’ stories with a larger crime syndicate and relevant real-life situations is such great storytelling. And to top it off, the drama brings in just the right amount of humor, heartwarming moments, subtle romance, and touching stories, ensuring that there’s never a dull moment.

All in all, “Taxi Driver” has everything that I crave in a drama – relevant and timely cases, captivating storytelling, and a cast of dynamic characters that have me rooting for them. It’s safe to say that it is currently my favorite ongoing drama, and I can’t wait to see what’s in store for the rest of the season.

Taxi Driver 2” is available on KOCOWA+, and while waiting, you can binge-watch the first season, which is also available on the platform! New episodes are on every Friday and Saturday!
