On the 15th, the premiere press conference for Channel A’s new weekend drama “Marry YOU” was held online. Attending the event were cast members Lee Yi Kyung, Jo Soo Min, Koo Jun Hoe, Ji E Suu, and director Hwang Kyung Sung, who discussed the series in detail.
“Marry YOU” is a comedic family drama centered on a couple caught between opposing views on marriage. It tells the story of Jung Ha Na (played by Jo Soo Min), a woman who is against marriage, as she struggles to escape the “Marriage Promotion Team” by attempting to find a match for Bong Cheol Hee (played by Lee Yi Kyung), a bachelor from a remote island. The drama has garnered attention for the pairing of Lee Yi Kyung and Jo Soo Min, along with the addition of vibrant young actors like Koo Jun Hoe and Ji E Suu, raising expectations even higher.
Lee Yi Kyung, who plays Bong Cheol Hee, described his character as follows: “Marriage is such a key social issue. This drama directly addresses that while showcasing Bong Cheol Hee’s purity, which I believe will bring clarity to the audience’s thoughts and help them take a step forward in their perspective on marriage.”
He also reflected on the project, saying, “This is a drama I’ve waited two years for. I’ve often heard how difficult it is to get dramas into production, and there were times when I simply waited after receiving the script. I’m grateful it has come this far, and I had complete confidence in the script.”
As for his reasons for joining the series, Lee Yi Kyung added, “These days, there’s so much provocative content out there. I thought it would be great to have something pure and wholesome for a change.”
