[Disclaimer: Some spoilers!]

Korean dramas have a way with how they portray their female protagonists. We see so many unique personalities that are polar opposites to  one another, but every one of them is equally endearing and easy to love.

Here, let’s have a quick look at two female protagonists that we love, but with very contrasting personalities!

Chae Song-Ah from “Do You Like Brahms?

Played by Park Eun-Bin

Whenever she introduces herself, people usually go, “…Wait, why are you saying sorry?” That’s because her name sounds like saying sorry in Korean. It embarrasses her every time and the atmosphere becomes really awkward. Each time it happens, she quietly explains that that’s her name and laughs it off.

The shy girl that has the tendency to fade away during group conversations, and takes her time to get close to someone. She also stays silent whenever people criticize her decision in going to a music school after getting her business degree. But here’s one of her many qualities that captivate us: she sticks to her decision firmly no matter how much people try to discourage her. Her reason for doing so? She simply loves playing the violin.

Here are a few of her many other qualities that we love about her!

She’s kind to those who even insult her.

A famous violinist, Jo Su-An, is about to perform, but she’s a little too arrogant. Su-An is in the same graduating class as Song-Ah and remembers how Song-Ah is always last in her class. She insults her and says she isn’t fit to be called a violinist. But Song-Ah would rather Su-An perform in her best condition, so she decides to keep silent about it.

Surprisingly, she’s almost always making the first move!

When she’s hurt, she expresses it right away.

When dating rumors about them came up, Joon-Young (Played by Kim Min-Jae) strongly denied it. And that makes her really upset. She tells him about it directly in a gentle manner. He then tries to explain that he did it for her sake. Song-Ah doesn’t buy it, and makes yet another sweet confession.

Kong Sun-Ji from “Zombie Detective

Played by Park Joo-Hyun

The female protagonist from “Zombie Detective” is very, very different from Chae Song-Ah. She’s outspoken, she perseveres, and is so dedicated to her job that she would do anything. But there’s one thing about her that doesn’t seem very appealing–her personal hygiene!

The drama has only just begun, but we already think she’s adorable and hilarious. Here’s why!

She mistakes a zombie for someone suffering from alcoholism and gives him all the money she has on her

She was looking for her phone, which the zombie (Played by Choi Jin-Hyuk) has. She took her phone and gave him all the money she has, telling him to spend the night in a sauna instead.

She manages to give her kidnappers a hard time.

Sun-Ji was having a bad day, so she went to forget about it with some adult beverages. A crew  of kidnappers took advantage of her drunken state and dragged her into their van. They wanted to give her a hard time, but instead, she kicks up a huge fuss and gives them a hard time.
