Thanksgiving is almost here, and we are feeling grateful!  KOCOWA is thankful for all of our viewers, our shows, our concerts, and for our upcoming K-Pop meets VR animation show, “Girls RE:VERSE”  which will premiere on November 28th. (Keep a watch out for that!)

While we were busy getting excited about “Girls RE:VERSE” (as we do over here), we started looking at some of our favorite webcomics and realized they have a lot in common with some of our favorite K-Dramas! Well, what can a K-Drama-loving gal do but to partner with our friends at Tapas to talk about some of the subjects (ie. K-Drama tropes, let’s keep it real) that we are most thankful for. You know, the kind that just brings a smile to your face. And we all should have the chance to smile a bit more right?

Well, say hello to your smile-making maken, Tapas,  home to some of the world’s best romantic webcomics with a community of over 106,000 stories to brighten your day, and just like KOCOWA they have a story, trope, hero, love-interest, you name it to cover everything you crave!

Because there are so many amazing romantic tropes to choose from we selected a few titles from each of these tried and true trope loves that make us thankful for the smiles they bring. We at KOCOWA and Tapas are thrilled to share this hand-curated collection of perfect pairings for you to enjoy this holiday season!

Now get to smiling!

Workplace Romances!

Why do we love a good workplace romance? Probably because many of us are caught in a 9 to 5 every day of the week! We know what it’s like to be stuck at a desk, but wouldn’t it be much better if the desk across from ours was our crush’s? I know I would like it better!

KOCOWA has tons of office romance to love, and not just ones behind a desk. The Law Cafe is in a coffee shop, Young Lady and Gentleman is in a mansion, and Bad Prosecutor is…well, all over the city.

But if you want to unplug and read a traditional (and great!) office romance, then you must check out Positively Yours, The Wicked Wife of a Scheming CEO, and Office Gods on Tapas. CEO’s that don’t act right (until they do), one-night stands (that come back to haunt them), and office love triangles (amidst deadlines) make these Tapas romances must-reads. In fact, these office romances might have you showing up to work early!

Contract Relationships

You have got to love Contract Relationships which go hand in hand with the much-loved trope Forced Proximity! It’s like forced proximity on steroids because the couple in question has to pretend to like each other as well! Throw in Enemies to Lovers, and we have ourselves a winner.

If this is the kind of story you are feigning for, then look no further than It’s Beautiful Now and Fated to Love You on KOCOWA. And if you want your eyes filled with gorgeous illustrations to go along with contract relationship pining, then check out Tapas very own Substitute Boyfriend (yes, please) and Save It For The Honeymoon (eep, so risqué). Psst…Save It For The Honeymoon also falls into workplace romances, I’m just saying.

Second Lead Syndrome

One of the most confusing and yet thrilling experiences with a K-Drama is when you fall in love with, not the hero but…the second male lead! I don’t know how this happens, but some dramas just go so hard with the second male lead making them the ideal choice for the heroine to fall in love with! Alas, they don’t always end up together, sending many a drama watcher into chest-clutching pains of what could have been. IT HURTS SO GOOD. It is also the stuff that fan-fiction is made of.

If this is the kind of show you love to sink into, then look no further than While You Were Sleeping and Bravo My Life on KOCOWA. But if watching live-action hits you a bit too hard, check it out in animated form in Tapas hit comics Something Between Us and Four Ways To Find A Wife. You just might find a great desktop image to imagine what could have been!
