*SPOILER ALERT* The last two episodes were such tearjerkers! I am such an empathetic cryer! Whenever Kyung Chul cries, I cannot hold back my tears!
Let’s highlight the key recap points from episodes 47 and 48 of “It’s Beautiful Now”.
“It’s Beautiful Now” Episodes 47 & 48 Recap:
- After Soo Jung was confirmed with liver cancer, she and her husband were in denial since she was never really sick. They are both very shocked by this and need to find someone who can give her a liver transplant. When they came home, they were waiting for the time to reveal this tragic news. When Jin Heon summoned everyone at the dinner table to drop the bombshell, he hesitates and leaves. Everyone is left startled. Jin Heon summons just Jung Ja and Jung Hoo and tells them that Soo Jung is very ill and that the only way she can live is to get a liver transplant from any family member to donate. Soo Jung decides not to tell her father or Mi Rae.
- When Mi Rae went to get a checkup for her baby, the doctor told her that the baby’s heart rate was relatively slow; therefore, they suggested to Mi Rae to rest well.
- Soo Jae helped Yu Na take off her cast. She then invites him home and tells him to stay for dinner. Soo Jae and Yu Na reminisce about the days they were together as a couple.
- Both Hyun Jae and Yoon Jae couples have a very happy life thinking about the babies that will soon be born. However, just one issue they both have in common is, who will take care of the babies? All four of them work full-time, and they cannot give up their careers now. Both couples decide to ask either Kyung Ae or Soo Jung to babysit the babies once they are born. Mi Rae calls Soo Jung and asks if she can babysit the baby once born, without knowing the fact that Soo Jung is very ill at the moment. When hearing this, Jin Heon firmly tells Mi Rae to do everything on her own now that she should have more responsibilities. Mi Rae is upset and doesn’t know why her father is acting in such a way.
- While Yoon Jae was giving a nice massage to his pregnant wife, he accidentally got hit on the eye, leaving him with a bruise. When he arrives at work, the employees are shocked to see him with sunglasses and Yoon Jae just casually tells them he was hit by a wife. However, this message can give out the wrong context, which in this case, that was the case. This message got snowballed and got into Hyun Jae’s ears. Hyun Jae bluntly asks Hae Jun, and she cannot believe what she is hearing and gives an explanation.
- Soo Jung met Kyung Chul for lunch, and the first thing he said was, what were the results of your health checkup? Kyung Chul was always worried that she might be diagnosed with something since her biological mother died from cancer. Soo Jung was puzzled at first but smiled and told him there was nothing serious for him to worry about. Soo Jung then asks him what he wishes to do with her, and he responds with, let’s take a picture together.
- Soo Jung resents the fact that she met her father; she believes she’s causing only pain now that she has been diagnosed with cancer. She wanted to do so much with her father now that they are finally reunited, but due to this tragedy, everything will change. With Mi Rae, she will soon give birth, and she will need her mother aside, but Soo Jung is worried that she might not be there for her daughter. Jin Heon is upset to hear that and tells her she will find a donor soon. Soo Jung helps prepare for Mi Rae’s pregnancy in case Soo Jung might not be there…
- Jin Heon and Jung Hoo get tested in order to check if they are the right fit for the transplant, but the doctors have bad news for them. None of them are the right fit, they are both in denial. After this uncomfortable result, Soo Jung goes to meet Kyung Chul for a photoshoot. There, Kyung Chul gave Soo Jung a bracelet he bought for her.
- When Mi Rae comes home, Jung Hoo, Jin Heon, and Jung Ja are all in the living room in deep sorrow. Mi Rae asks why but no one seems to be telling her clearly. When Mi Rae insists, Jung Ja tells her that Soo Jung has cancer. Mi Rae breaks down, and the rest of the family members carry her to the room. Mi Rae is devastated about the fact that she cannot donate her liver to Soo Jung due to the pregnancy.
- Both Yoon Jae and Hyun Jae are being especially nice to their mother. These two brothers have ulterior motives to have Kyung Ae babysit the babies. When Hyun Jae gives a hotel voucher to Kyung Ae to bribe, Yoon Jae is a bit irritated and thinks of something better.
- Hyun Jae offers to get tested for the liver transplant to see if he is compatible with Soo Jung. Jin Heon is really touched by Hyun Jae. Soo Jung invites everyone to her place for dinner. Min Ho has already found out about Soo Jung’s illness. He talks with her privately, when Kyung Chul takes a house tour, he accidentally eavesdrops on the conversation between Min Ho and Soo Jung and finds out about her cancer. Kyung Chul breaks down in shock. Kyung Chul continues to ask when the transplant surgery date is but no one seems to have an answer. Kyung Chul faints in shock…
- Soo Jae seriously asks Yu Na to restart their relationship. He is waiting for her response.
“It’s Beautiful Now” Episode 49 Trailer Breakdown:
Kyung Chul suggests donating his liver to Soo Jung (Jung Eun).
Hyun Jae got the test results back, and the doctor told him to get surgery right away.
Hyun Jae is willing to transplant his liver to Soo Jung. However, Kyung Ae seems not so positive about his son’s decision.
Hyun Jae even asks Hae Jun to help him persuade Kyung Ae, but Hae Jun refuses.
Hyun Jae reassures Mi Rae that this was solely his decision and that things will be fine. And he is only doing this because Soo Jung is also his family.
Jin Heon visits a cemetery. (WHY?)
What a friggin CLIFFHANGER! This should get the cliffhanger and big twist K-Drama of the year!!! I mean, no way.. things won’t go the way I am assuming, right?… I think I have watched makjang dramas too much. I am not gonna say anymore and will write in a separate post about the predictions.
