Lee Se Hee won the K-drama lottery! Since the 30-year-old actress scored the leading role of Park Dan Dan in “Young Lady and Gentleman,” she has earned two outstanding awards, has become immensely popularity in South Korea, and has amassed a dedicated K-Drama following around the world! At the “2021 KBS Drama Awards” in December,  Lee Se Hee was honored with Best New Actress and Best Couple Awards (alongside her charming co-star Ji Hyun Woo). This is truly a magical time for the conscientious actress who spent several years perfecting supporting roles while holding part-time jobs.

As we continue to watch her “Cinderella” story unfold every weekend in “Young Lady and Gentleman,” let’s take a look at some of the diverse characters she has played in recent years.

Kang So Ye (Netflix’s “Hospital Playlist 2”) – This character is a driven career woman! So Ye is well on her way to becoming a respected doctor at Yulje Medical Centre. In season two of the popular NetFlix and tvN series, she is a fellow in emergency medicine. This small supporting role was one of the many things that helped prepare her for the superstardom that was coming her way.

Jang Jun Oh  (MBC’s “SF8: White Crow”) – In this TV movie, the character of Jun Oh is an innocent high school girl who was harshly and unjustly bullied by her classmates. They fabricated all sorts of terrible lies about her and made her school existence unbearable. She is the picturesque damsel in distress role without the prince. Her alleged close friend is the protagonist Juno (EXID’s Hani). This high school girl’s seemingly insignificant part is the most important in the film.

Jung Hee Soo (JTBC’s “Live On”) – Se Hee had to be the ultimate mean girl in this teenage school series. Hee Soo wasn’t properly introduced until the second half, but she became the main reason the protagonist Baek Ho Rang (Jung Da Bin) felt tormented throughout the entire K-drama. Hee Soo knew a dark secret about Ho Rang’s past in a former school. She decided to use that piece of information to destroy the happy existence she enjoyed in the present day. I guess you can call Hee Soo the number one anti-fan to Ho Rang’s online popularity. This is the complete opposite of her good-girl image on “Young Lady and Gentleman,” but this role displays her amazing versatility as an actress.

Jo Soon Ja (MBC’s “Everybody Say Kungdari”) –  Lee Se Hee’s first taste of a leading role was indirectly through the character Soon Ja where she played the younger version of the main character originated by actress Lee Bo Hee. In this drama,  Se Hee is a wealthy lady that has her fair share of secrets. This is another villain role because she harbors fear and resentment against the leading lady Song Bo Mi (Park Si Eun) for accidentally discovering one of her secrets.

From a powerful career woman, to an innocent, defenseless girl to a heartless villain, Se Hee has tried them all and did an exceptional job. Lee Se Hee is full of surprises, and we can’t wait to see what she has in store for us next!

Which past Lee Se Hee role formally introduced you to her?
