We are already nine months into 2019, several new Korean actors and actresses have caught our eye, and of course, we hope to see them again as soon as possible. But it turns out that we don’t have to wait too long to see some of them. They seem to be working hard to appear on the screen again.

Here are the rookie actors that have caught our eye!

Song Kang

Born: April 23, 1994 (Age 25)

Debuted: 2017

He made his name through the variety show “Village Survival: the Eight” with his oddball personality in 2018. Since then, he’s been taking up a few prominent roles. In “Love Alarm,” he plays the popular model Hwang Sun-O who falls in love with a pretty and smart girl, Kim Jo-Jo (Kim So-Hyun).

And in the drama that’s currently airing, “When the Devil Calls Your Name,” he plays Ruka, a physically weak boy who has connections with the male lead, Seo Dong-Cheon (Jung Kyung-Ho).

Song Kang will be starring in the upcoming drama “Sweet Home,” alongside with Lee Jin-Wook, Go Min-Si, Park Kyu-Young, Go Yoon-Jeong, and Lee Do-Hyun. This series is set to air this December. Don’t forget to mark your calendars!

Jang Dong-Yoon

Born: July 12, 1992 (Age 27)

The actor first received recognition for his acting in the high school drama, “Solomon’s Perjury.”

He’s best known for his lead roles in “School 2017,” as a top student who’s disadvantaged because of his poor family background, and “A Poem A Day,” as the guy who had rejected the female lead Woo Bo-Young (Lee Yu-Bi) years ago and wanted nothing to do with her.

Currently, Jang Dong-Yoon is working on a new drama, “The Tale of Nokdu” with actress Kim So-Hyun. The drama will begin airing soon! It’s set to air on September 30 and KOCOWA will be releasing it with subtitles. Get excited!

Dramas: “Just Dance” as Kwon Seung-Chan (lead role), and “School 2017” as Song Dae-Whee (lead role).

Park Yoo-Na

Born: December 23, 1997 (Age 21)

Debuted: 2015

I started noticing her in “Gangnam Beauty.” It wasn’t a significant role, but she was such a charismatic girl in that drama. I can’t help but admit that I’ve fallen for her charms since then.

Later, Park Yoo-Na went on to star in really popular series “Sky Castle” and “Hotel Del Luna.” Her character in “Hotel Del Luna” was somehow a parody of her role in “Sky Castle” which made things interesting.

Ahn Hyo-Seop

Born: April 17, 1995 (Age 24)

Debuted: 2015

This rookie actor has already won a Best New Actor award for his young teenage role in “Still 17.” In “Still 17,” Ahn Hyo-Seop played as the innocent, pure-hearted boy Yoo Chan, who gets himself involved in a love triangle between the leads, Gong Woo-Jin (Yang Se-Jong) and Woo Seo-Ri (Shin Hye-Sun).

Ahn Hyo-Seop has been given an offer to star in “Dr. Romantic 2” with Han Seok-Kyu and he’s considering the role. Lee Sung-Kyung is currently in talks for the lead role in this drama too! It’s scheduled to air this December.

Lee Do-Hyun

Born: April 11, 1995 (Age 24)

Debuted: 2017

Go Chung-Myung! He had so much chemistry with Jang Man-Wol (IU) in “Hotel Del Luna” that I couldn’t bear to watch him go. Similarly, he had some chemistry with Kim You-Jung in “Clean With Passion For Now” too. That makes me wonder if he could have chemistry with all his (future) co-stars. I’m excited to find out!

Lee Do-Hyun will also be starring in the drama “Sweet Home” with another rising rookie actor, Song Kang. Another reason to mark your calendars!

  1. The following time I read a blog, I hope that it doesnt disappoint me as a lot as this one. I mean, I do know it was my option to read, but I actually thought youd have something interesting to say. All I hear is a bunch of whining about something that you would fix should you werent too busy in search of attention.
