You Were Taken by Me” is a star-studded musical series! Park Shin Hye, CNBLUE’s Jung Yong Hwa and Kang Min Hyuk, So E Hyun, Mun Ka Young, “Gold Mask” star Lee Hyun Jin and many others completed the cast. You can’t miss this lively classic that is full of the very best performing arts. They even incorporate some traditional Korean music for historical K-drama lovers.

Let’s take a look at five reasons you should be watching Park Shin Hye’s early series right now.

This is a Park Shin Hye project!

K-drama royalty is the main character in this fun musical. Park Shin Hye is known for her out of this world acting. She always has a rare talent to draw viewers into any production and not let us go until the last episode. Shin Hye does it all in “You Were Taken by Me.” She acts, sings, dances and models an incredible fusion of modern and historical fashion. Her attempt at blending maxi skirts, dresses and mini skirts is absolutely flawless!  By the last episode, you’ll want to bring all these styles back and try them yourself. Also, her onscreen chemistry with co-star Jung Yong Hwa was so easy that you can tell they were good friends off-screen too. Of course, that can be credited to their previous hit K-drama “You’re Beautiful.” In that series, the two celebrities played members of the fictional band A.N.JELL, and they were involved in a love triangle with Jang Keun Suk’s character.

Two CNBLUE members star in this musical!

This K-drama is literally a gift that keeps on giving. Not only do we witness the early acting skills of Jung Yong Hwa and Kang Min Hyuk, but we enjoy their sweet vocals on the show’s soundtrack. Both idols have defined love stories in the series, and their solo tracks play in the background. The pair is also seen performing their signature songs live as members of the pretend band The Stupid.

We meet a young Mun Ka Young.

Memory” and “True Beauty,” she was just Lee Shin’s little sister, Jun Hyung. It’s amazing to see adolescent Ka Young excel in her role as the bratty yet lovable sibling. She gets overly interested in Gyu Won and Shin’s budding romance while gaining an interest in Grandfather Lee’s historical music career.

Young Lady and Gentleman” fans will love seeing actress Lee Il Hwa again.

She landed another maternal role in this vintage series. The respected actress played Lee Shin and Lee Ka Young’s biological mother in “You Were Taken by Me.” Despite the fact that she had a parent character, Il Hwa’s story, as Song Ji Young, was involved in a classic love triangle too. Ji Young was the sweetheart of Gyu Won’s dad in their youth, but family opposition got in the way of their union. It is surprising that her character name in this classic K-drama is the same first name in “Young Lady and Gentleman.” She has been a Ji Young for two different decades!

This is a stress-free TV show that will bring a smile to your face.

The villains are subdued, and the obstacles in the way of the main characters’ happiness are just hills and not treacherous mountains. The villains in this series are there, but their power is nothing compared to usual K-dramas. Most of the episodes are filled with great music, powerful dancing and blossoming relationships you’ll be rooting for until the end. This is a fun and carefree musical that will make your season so much brighter.
