Step into chills and embrace your fears as jump scares and real-life horror locations take over your viewing pleasure in “Midnight Horror Story 5”. If you are not aware, “Midnight Horror Story” is the show you watch when you want to be scared out of your mind. The story gets told to a live studio audience, think campfire style, and they also re-enact the story visually, so all the terror corners are covered!
I should say I am too much of a wimp to make it through some episodes (okay, most episodes), but I braved the streaming waves to help y’all out on this first episode of season 5, and I have some new season tea for you.
Not only has the format changed, they have somehow managed to make it scarier. Instead of introducing three stories, as was done in previous seasons, season 5 introduces two stories and then takes the audience on location to where the story actually took place to give you all the creepy crawies your heart desires – or doesn’t desire, you won’t know until you watch – and there is no shame in bowing out if it gets to be too much (raises hand).
Without further ado, here is a taste of the two stories revealed, not in all their glorious, or should I say horroriest, detail, but with just enough to get you intrigued in episode one of “Midnight Horror Story 5”.
Horror Tale #1: Sea of Trees – The Deadliest Hot Spot in Japan

The Seas of Trees, also known as the suicide forest, kicks off the ghost tales this season. The name alone makes me nope right out, but I will carry on. In this ghost story, a production team and a ghost hunter are sent to the forest with the person who submitted the story, and the team has their own mysterious experience.
Horror Tale #2: Possessed at the Hot Springs in Korea
This time, the team is in Korea and visits an abandoned Hot Springs. In the story, a few friends go to the mountains to look at the stars as an amateur astrology group and end up at an abandoned Hot Springs. It was an amazing find at first – until one of the friends started to act strangely. The production team goes to check it out with a host and a famous ghost hunter, and also experiences paranormal activity.
Y’all, I am so scared! That is about as creeped out as I can get without staying up all night, all lights on, watching comedies until sunrise. Have I enticed you to watch or enticed you to stay away? (lol)
If you’re as scaredy cat as I’m, you probably noped out at the beginning of this article and aren’t even reading this. But if you are a die-hard horror fan, this is the show and season for you!
