Dust off your virtual boxing gloves and put some cumbers under your drama-binging induced dark circles. It’s a new month, so that means it’s time for another ‘Battle of the Dramas’!

Our first “battle” took place in January, and got over a hundred response! In February, new couple Lee Jong Suk and IU’s dramas went up against each other and garnered a total of 843 responses!

Wow! We’re glad you’re enjoying this new KOCOWA tradition.

If you haven’t already checked, “Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo” beat “W” with 62.28% of the votes, but “Big Mouth” overtook “My Mister” with 51.65%. So, congrats to both Lee Jong Suk and IU. Our KOCONUTS deem your dramas worthy.

For March we decided to switch things up. Instead of an actor versus an actress, we’re going to have two actors get into the arena.

The first is going to be Lee Seung Gi, who is famously known as Korea’s “Son-in-Law”. The funny thing is he’s going to be a real son-in-law soon, because he’s engaged to actress Lee Da In.

As an actor, Lee Seung Gi is known for exploring different genres like action, fantasy, and romantic comedies. Some of his biggest dramas are “Shining Inheritance”, “My Girlfriend Is a Gumiho”, “Kangchi, the Beginning” (also known as “Gu Family Book”), “Mouse”, and most recently “The Law Cafe”.

The second contender is Lee Je Hoon, “Mr. Luscious Lips” and “Prince of Intense Dramas”. (These are my own personal titles for him). His biggest dramas are the time travel thriller “Signal”, “Tomorrow With You”, “Move to Heaven”, and “Taxi Driver”. “Taxi Driver” was such a hit, it was renewed for a second season. “Taxi Driver 2″ is currently airing on KOCOWA+ to rave reviews.

Both actors have an amazing track record, so now it’s time for the hard part. Vote for the drama you prefer below. The poll will close Friday, March 10, 2023, at 12AM Eastern Standard Time (EST). You can come back here to make sure your favorite dramas won or wait to see the results in April’s ‘Battle of the Dramas’.

Vagabond vs Taxi Driver

Both are intense, but my vote goes to “Taxi Driver”. I held my breath as I watched each episode, and the fact that the cases in the show were based off cases in real life made everything more gut-wrenching. I’m also a sucker for the Found Family trope, which the employees of Rainbow Taxi embody.

I’m loving season two so far. Watch it with me on KOCOWA+!

Mouse vs Move to Heaven

This is like picking which child I love more! “Mouse” and “Move to Heaven” are phenomenal, and I would even say they’re high on the list when it comes to best dramas of all time. So, it’s with a heavy heart that I cast my vote for “Mouse”. Again, “Move to Heaven” was amazing and it taught me not to take life for granted, but “Mouse” had me screaming. There were so many shocking moments, and it posed very interesting moral questions.

I’ve been having a lot of fun seeing which dramas win the battle every month, but this is the toughest one yet. I really wanted to include Lee Je Hoon’s drama “Signal”, because it’s excellent and one of my personal faves, but both actors have so many hits it was hard to choose. Plus “Taxi Driver” and “Move to Heaven” are newer, so I think more people are familiar with them.

Make sure to vote before it’s too late! The ‘Battle of the Lees” will be a fierce one. If you want to watch more of their dramas, check out the lists below.

Lee Seung Gi’s Dramas on KOCOWA+:

Lee Je Hoon’s Dramas/Movies on KOCOWA+:

And last, but certainly not least, watch “Taxi Driver” Season 2 in English, Portuguese, and Spanish on KOCOWA+. New episodes air every Friday and Saturday!

  1. i also love Lee Seung Gi but I had to vote against Vagabond because there was never a sequel nor even a rumor of a second series. Way too many unanswered questions

  2. Lee Seung Gi is the best. Although I do like
Lee Je Hoon also. They are both excellent actors,
but Lee Seung Gi will always have a special place in my heart.

    • Both have starred in some of the best dramas I’ve ever seen. This “Battle of the Dramas” was very hard.
