“Beauty and Mr. Romantic” Episode 15 & 16 Recap:

Do Ra storms out of the nude photoshoot because she cannot bear the embarrassment and shame. Mi Ja wails and begs Do Ra, insisting she doesn’t have to go through all this if she just gives Jin Dan the chance.
Pil Seung is let down by the fact that he is of no help to Do Ra. If he could only assist Do Ra with her financial problems, then she wouldn’t have to endure such pain. Pil Seung now finds himself self-sabotaging and doubting his abilities as an assistant director due to his lack of a high-paying job.
Do Ra meets with Pil Seung to inform him in person that she is engaged and will soon marry Jin Dan. Pil Seung struggles to accept this news and seeks reassurance of her honesty. Doubting her decision, Pil Seung cannot come to terms with the fact that Do Ra is prioritizing money over love. Despite their promise that love would conquer all, Do Ra coldly rebuffs this notion, pushing Pil Seung away. Reluctantly, Pil Seung lets her go, realizing this isn’t the Do Ra he fell in love with. The next day, news of Jin Dan and Do Ra’s impending marriage spreads widely.
Pil Seung’s family is furious upon seeing the news. Sun Young genuinely supported their relationship, but now that Do Ra is marrying Chae Beol, they feel betrayed. Mi Ja, who is insensitive, visits Pil Seung and warns him not to become the roadblock in Do Ra’s marriage.
When Do Ra goes to try on dresses, she wears a poker face. However, as she tries on more dresses, she finds herself unable to face reality and collapses. She confesses to Jin Dan that she tried to play along but can no longer continue. Despite begging for forgiveness and crying, Jin Dan refuses to relent and denies her plea. He promises to destroy Do Ra after forgiving her and taking her in. Despite his ultimatum, Do Ra still chooses to run away.
Mi Ja’s mind is in turmoil after Do Ra runs away and returns home empty-handed. Mi Ja pleads for help, expressing that if Do Ra does not marry Jin Dan, then all her properties will be stolen, and they will be in grave danger. Do Ra resents her mother and the circumstances of being born as Mi Ja’s daughter. She asks Mi Ja to face the punishment she deserves in prison.
Jin Dan returns home dejected, his ego bruised. His family is also furious that Jin Dan was rejected after he tried to help Do Ra financially, even though she was at rock bottom.
Even though Do Ra is not financially stable, she feels a weight lifted off her shoulders now that she has severed ties with Jin Dan. She begins anew, working diligently to pay off her debt. She makes herself available wherever she’s needed. One day, she is called for a commercial shoot at a hotel. However, Do Ra finds it suspicious that the contract negotiation is taking place in a hotel room. Later, she discovers it was a trap; someone had planted a camera in the room to falsely depict her accepting promiscuous sponsorship from an elderly, wealthy businessman. Despite leaving the room as soon as she sensed something was amiss, she found herself bombarded with questions and camera flashes.
Even Do Ra’s long-time fans after reading the news about her sponsorship, turned their backs on her. She runs to Pil Seung hoping that he would acknowledge her truth. She tells him that what he saw is all false and was framed, she does not care if everyone else turns their back on her but she wants to make sure that Pil Seung is not one of them. However, Pil Seung does not trust her and asks her how low she can go. Do Ra, now with nothing more to lose and no reason to live, decides to throw herself in the ocean, leaving a simple death message to her older brother.
Pil Seung receives a strange message from Do Ra, and the next day he finds out that Do Ra is dead. Her body isn’t found, but there is news going around that Do Ra has passed away.
Her family mourns Do Ra’s tragic death. Mi Ja ends up going to prison, and the whole family is in turmoil. Pil Seung cannot accept Do Ra’s death and visits the place where she threw herself, mourning for her.
Do Ra was fortunately found by a grandmother who was working nearby the ocean. She mistakes Do Ra for her lost granddaughter and takes her to the hospital. Do Ra recovers and lives a life in the countryside as this stranger’s grandchild.
In the meantime, Pil Seung became a main director. He visits the countryside to shoot his drama. Do Ra, who seems to live under a different identity and has lost her past memories, sees the film site and the director and finds her heart pounding for strange reasons. She even helps out by lending a puppy for a scene. She introduces herself as Kim Ji Young and does not seem to recognize Pil Seung.
The dead Do Ra has been haunting Jin Dan with terrible nightmares.
Ji Young (formerly Do Ra) is given a chance to work as an assistant on Pil Seung’s filming crew. She works diligently, and Pil Seung is impressed by Ji Young. She is even offered a full-time job in Seoul.
Mi Ja and the rest of the family live a normal life after Do Ra’s passing. Mi Ja blackmails Jin Dan for causing such turmoil in the family.
Ji Young moved to Seoul to work as a full-time employee and is now part of Pil Seung’s crew.
