On December 15, 2PM’s youngest member, Hwang Chan Sung — also known simply as Chansung — announced that he and his longtime girlfriend were preparing to get married and were expecting a baby together.

THE ANNOUNCEMENT

Chansung shared a hand-written note on his Instagram account to personally let his fans know of his upcoming plans.

To sum up his letter, Chansung said that he joined 2PM as a young teenager and has been a member of the group for the past 15 years. He and his fiancée had been planning their marriage since his mandatory military duty was completed almost a year ago. They will get married in early 2022. His non-celebrity fiancée is in the early stages of her pregnancy.

Additionally, Chansung — now 31 — said he made the decision not to renew his contract with JYP Entertainment, stating that the two parted ways amicably and will always support each other’s endeavors.

His bandmate Taecyeon (Ok Taec Yeon) was one of the many well-wishers and left a joyous comment for the singer/dancer/actor:

Our youngest Chansung❤️ No matter what path you walk, I will always support you and be by your side. Congratulations and be happy!! I love you

Besides Chansung and Taecyeon, 2PM is comprised of Junho (Lee Jun Ho), Nichkhun (Nichkhun Buck Horvejkul), Wooyoung (Jang Woo Young), and Jun. K (Kim Min Jun).

Chansung has a thriving acting career. You may have seen him in “What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim,” “Dr. Romantic,” “Suspicious Partner,” “My Holo Love,” “Queen for Seven Days,” “So I Married the Anti Fan,” and “My Horrible Boss.” He may currently be seen in “Show Window: The Queen’s House” (pictured above) opposite Jeon So Min of “Running Man” fame.

“DREAM HIGH”

Dream High” almost felt like a 2PM reunion. Chansung and Nichkhun made cameo appearances in the teen high school series, which starred Taecyeon and Wooyoung. Taecyeon played Kim Soo Hyun’s rival in trying to win over Bae Suzy. And Wooyoung portrayed a Korean American dancer who IU’s character has a huge crush on.

“THE AGE OF STRAY DOGS AND WILD DOGS”

More recently, Chansung and Nichkhun shared a meta moment in “Vincenzo,” where Taecyeon had a meaty co-starring role opposite Song Joong Ki. As Taecyeon’s character is watching a show called “The Age of Stray Dogs and Wild Dogs,” his bandmates appear on screen, acting out a scene about a secret identity that’s applicable to the role Taecyeon is playing. In the K-Drama within the K-Drama, Chansung says:

I’m the only one who knows you’re the real Kim Jin Min. If you’re gone, I can become the real Kim Jin Min.

Of course, Taecyeon is quite the prolific actor, too, not just for “Vincenzo,” but for his work in projects like “Save Me,” “The Game: Towards Zero,” “Assembly,” “Bring It On, Ghost,” “Secret Royal Inspector & Joy,” and “Who Are You?”

RETURN OF THE BEASTLY IDOLS?

Did you catch Chansung and Wooyoung on “Home Alone“? Chansung showed up to cook a mouth-watering meal for his bandmate and help him ramp up his exercise routine. Haha! The two reminisce about their days as 짐승들, or beastly idols, known for their well-muscled physiques. They remember how difficult it was to maintain that conditioning, but, as they point out, it was a little easier back then because they were younger.

“THE RED SLEEVE” & MUKBANGS

Junho showed off his home gym and his cute cats on “Home Alone.” In this particular episode, he basically hosts his own mukbang. Though he’s mindful of eating healthy, Junho echoes what Chansung and Wooyoung said earlier: He never wants to go back to the days when he and his 2PM bandmates were on strict diets all the time. Did you know he was a contestant on “The King of Mask Singer,” too? The idol is another 2PM member having great success with acting. Besides starring in “Wok of Love,” “Rain or Shine,” and “Good Manager,” Junho’s earned the attention of netizens for his superb acting in the sageuk drama “The Red Sleeve.”

MR. VERSATILITY

Outside of 2PM, some of Jun. K’s biggest roles have been in theater. He starred as D’Artagnan in “The Three Musketeers” and Daniel in “Jack the Ripper.” He’s also one of the stars of the latest incarnation of the popular radio production “On Air.” Besides the documentary “Beyond the One Day: Story of 2PM & 2AM,” Jun. K and his bandmates made cameo appearances in the K-Dramas “Style” and “CX.” He also was a part of the reality shows “Hot Blood,” “Idol Army,” and “Oven Radio.”
