“Our Golden Days” Episodes 21 & 22 Recap:

- Woo Jin turns out to be one of the siblings, and while the whole family welcomes him warmly, Seong Hui doesn’t seem pleased. It’s soon revealed that the person who actually needs a liver transplant isn’t Seong Hui, but her son, Woo Jin. Woo Jin returns home, saying he missed his family and came back quietly, but he’s not the type to show up without notice. Later, he confides in Seong Hui that he didn’t want to stay in the mountains, knowing he’s dying of liver cancer, so he decided to come home. Woo Jin is Seong Jae’s stepbrother, and they weren’t particularly close growing up.
- Meanwhile, Su Bin, who works at one of Seong Jae’s company’s shops, accidentally overhears a coworker’s phone call about Seong Jae. The colleague mentions that Seong Jae’s biological mother left him when he was just four, and that he probably believes Seong Hui is his real mother. Shocked and worried, Su Bin starts to feel sympathy for Seong Jae.
- Seong Hui later pulls Woo Jin aside and urges him to stay quiet about his illness so Jin Seok won’t find out. Her true nature starts to show; she warns Woo Jin not to appear weaker than Seong Jae if he wants to become Jin Seok’s successor. She begs him to recover and return as a strong, capable heir to his father’s company. But when Woo Jin resists, saying that’s not what he wants, Seong Hui cuts him off angrily. She tells him his life belongs to her, that she paved every step of his path, and he owes it to her to succeed. Knowing Seong Jae has no ambition for the corporate world, Seong Hui is determined to make Woo Jin the next heir. She drives him out to a quiet rural area near Seoul, where he used to live, and tells the rest of the family he’s gone abroad.

- Elsewhere, Seong Hui becomes fixated on security at Yeong Ra’s art gallery. Yeong Ra is still being stalked, and despite the precautions, the danger remains. When she’s left alone one evening, a stranger sneaks up behind her, forces her into a car, and locks her inside. Yeong Ra screams for help, but just as panic sets in, Ji Wan rushes in to save her.

- After the incident, Yeong Ra and the stalker are taken to the police station for questioning. Back home, Jin Seok worries deeply for his daughter and fears the media might twist the situation, painting the stalker as Yeong Ra’s boyfriend and damaging her reputation, which could even affect her chances of marrying well in the future. The next day, there is a news release with a statement online denying any romantic involvement. Reading the news first thing in the morning, Seong Hui smirks and even calls the reporter to thank him.
- Meanwhile, Ji Hyuk’s feelings for Eun Oh continue to grow as they work together on interior design projects. But he holds back, knowing his best friend Seong Jae is trying to earn his father’s approval so he can officially date Eun Oh instead of being matched with someone from a wealthy family.
- Ji Wan’s bravery earns her a promotion from Jin Seok, who even appoints her as Yeong Ra’s official bodyguard.

- Desperate to save her son, Seong Hui starts approaching Eun Oh, hoping she’ll agree to be Woo Jin’s liver donor. Woo Jin, who happens to be Eun Oh’s best friend, is actually her biological twin brother. Pretending to be drunk, Seong Hui calls Eun Oh one night and emotionally reveals the truth, how she abandoned her daughter long ago, and now her son is dying. Eun Oh is devastated and begins to feel deep compassion for her estranged mother.
