Actor Ji Hyun Woo showed off his passion for “Beauty and Mr. Romantic”.
KBS2’s “Beauty and Mr. Romantic” is a romance growth drama that depicts the life of a rookie drama director who falls in love with a top actress who hit rock bottom, and helps her revive to become a top actress again.
The Return of Ji Hyun Woo from “Young Lady and Gentleman”
In the drama, Ji Hyun Woo takes on the role of Go Pil Seung, a passionate and energetic drama director who harbors a determined dream of success. Go Pil Seung is a character who excels at flattery when necessary and is willing to do whatever it takes, even putting on a tough front, to pursue his goals. Through his involvement in the drama, he becomes entangled with Im Soo Hyang (playing the role of Park Dora) and experiences various confusing situations.
Making his comeback to KBS weekend dramas two years after “Young Lady and Gentleman,” Ji Hyun Woo chose “Beauty and Mr. Romantic” for the opportunity to work with Kim Sa Kyung, the writer. He expressed, “I wanted to work with Kim Sa Kyung writer. I felt like the characters in the script were vividly alive. I’m grateful that actors are approached by writers or directors again. I’m making efforts to be helpful.”
Ji Hyun Woo has embarked on an acting transformation by portraying a drama director in the drama. Regarding this, he showed exceptional passion, stating, “To experience assistant directing, I commuted to the broadcasting station every day to really live the character and be real Go Pil Seung and I observed not only at the broadcasting station but also on the filming set as a staff rather than an actor.” He further expressed his affection for the character, saying, “I think the character of Go Pil Seung has a charm like a ‘connecting bridge.’ He is a person who lives diligently towards his dreams and loves many people.”
Lastly, Ji Hyun Woo earnestly expressed, “I want to gift you all with spring. I will strive to maintain the warmth of my heart. I hope you have high expectations for how Go Pil Seung by Ji Hyun Woo will be portrayed.”
