Q. Who or what inspired you to start acting?

I think it is because my dad likes movies, and whenever we go to the movies together, I naturally dreamed of becoming an actor. Also, it became clearer after watching the movie “Herb” starring Kang Hye Jung. At first, my parents really disapproved of my dream because they only thought it was just out of curiosity. Then, when they said they would approve of it if I went to a college in Seoul, I remember that’s when I started studying really hard.

Q. Is there anything you do before you get into character?

It varies from time to time, but for “My Perfect Stranger,” I tried to listen to a bunch of songs from that era and also listened to old pop songs. IU’s poetic lyrics from her songs helped a lot, especially “Strawberry Moon”.

Q. Which episodes from My Perfect Stranger were your favorites?

The most memorable scene for me in “My Perfect Stranger” was when I went on a picnic with Yoon Young (Jin Ki Joo), and she narrated, “My mom’s dream has finally become true. And for me too.” This line and this scene have really imprinted on my heart and remind me that nothing should be taken for granted, and I should be grateful for what I have now.

Q. Which are your favorite K-Dramas and why?

I regularly go back and rewatch “It’s Okay, That’s Love”. I think I watched it more than a hundred times. The actors have phenomenal performances, and the drama calms me down because of its warm story about the lives and loves of people who live with wounds in their hearts. I also really like “My Liberation Notes,” I even bought the script. Nowadays, I watch various animations through OTT platforms.

Q. What kind of character do you want to play in the future?

Many fans think a character like Soon Ae in a romantic comedy would suit me well, but I would actually like to play a character that is more serious and relatable in a romantic drama. I want people to relate to the situation I am in. Like the characters in “Very Ordinary Couple” or “Us and Them”. Recently, I’ve thought of a character that I want to play while watching “Les Amants Du Pont-Neuf”.

Q. Why would you recommend My Perfect Stranger to fans?

“My Perfect Stranger” can be portrayed as a thriller, but it is rather a warm story using a time slip element that depicts the lives of each character. It is more bittersweet than scary. Above all, the story plays about the mother’s shining, bright, young days, that you cannot see elsewhere.

Q. Any words for KOCOWA+ international fans abroad?

Thank you for your love for “My Perfect Stranger”. I am so happy to hear that many fans watched the drama. I am now working on a new drama. I will always try my best to become a better actress. I hope to see you guys soon!
