As a huge K-Drama fan for many years already, I noticed that daily or family weekend K-Dramas aren’t getting as much attention internationally compared to those K-Dramas that have Hallyu actors and actresses.
Multiple daily and weekend dramas are really loved in South Korea, and we can see it in their high ratings and how it’s being discussed on various Korean sites! To name a few, Yoon Si Yoon and Bae Da Bin’s “It’s Beautiful Now,” Nam Sang Ji and Yang Byeong Yeol’s “Bravo, My Life,” and Cha Ye Ryun and Lee Hyun Jin’s “Gold Mask” are ongoing K-Dramas who doesn’t just deserve domestic appreciation but also abroad!
The High Rated K-Dramas
“Bravo, My Life,” which stars Nam Sang Ji, Yang Byeong Yeol, Lee Si Kang, and Cha Min Jee, is a KBS daily drama that depicts the struggles of a single mother who fights the world! Yes, it’s that exciting, no wonder why it ranked first and recorded 16.5% nationwide ratings!“
Bravo, My Life” has one of the best female leads. It features a high school student who has never dated anyone to become a mom because she chose to be her nephew’s mother. A real eye-opener K-Drama that everyone needs to watch. South Koreans love inspiring stories like this!
The new SBS daily crime mystery melodrama “Gold Mask” stars Cha Ye Ryun, Lee Hyun Jin, Na Young Hee, and Lee Hwi Hyang. It depicts the mad fight of three women and started with a double-digit audience rating of 11%!
The drama tells the story of finding the answer to life in a mad fight between three women due to a tragedy caused by false desires and greed. In the first episode, we saw the story of Yoo Soo Yeon (Cha Ye Ryun), who became a daughter-in-law to a chaebol family and is going through a difficult marriage. It’s frustrating to see that the main character is experiencing all the misfortunes caused by the people around her.
The appearance of characters with distinct personalities and the rapid story development caught the viewers’ eyes! One more reason why the drama is gaining a lot of attention in South Korea is that it’s a makjang K-Drama! We all know how much Koreans love makjang, so those who love this genre can watch “Gold Mask,” and let’s be frustrated and thrilled together!

Another favorite ongoing K-Drama is Yoon Si Yoon and Bae Da Bin’s family weekend drama “It’s Beautiful Now“! It first premiered in April and is continuously first in its timeslot! 25.3% is its highest rating yet!
“It’s Beautiful Now” is an exciting K-Drama about three brothers who don’t want to get married, so their grandfather and parents decide to give a highly coveted apartment to the son who will marry first within the next six months! It contains realistic stories of the current generation that avoids dating and marriage and talks about what is the real meaning of family.
KBS family K-Dramas have always been my favorite, and we all know that KBS is the best at this genre. “It’s Beautiful Now“ has the right amount of comedy, romance, and a lot of heartwarming and realistic stories that everyone can relate to.
These are just some of the well-loved K-Dramas in South Korea that deserve international recognition! But, there are many more gems like them that you can watch on KOCOWA!
