Now that we’ve covered the best horror and thriller Korean films, of course, we won’t miss the chance to talk about our favorite Korean dramas that are also perfect to watch this Halloween season!

Master’s Sun

The perfect K-drama to watch is Gong Hyo Jin and So Ji Sub’s “Master Sun!” The drama centers around Tae Gong Shil (Gong Hyo Jin), a woman who can see ghosts after a near-death experience. Her life takes an unexpected turn when she meets Joo Joong Won (So Ji Sub), a cold CEO who becomes her unlikely protector.

Why it’s a must-watch? The top reason why this drama is a must-watch is because of the So Ji Sub x Gong Hyo Jin pairing! We don’t usually see a pairing between two top actors and actresses, and they have such amazing chemistry! “Master’s Sun” perfectly blends fantasy, horror, and romance that 16 episodes will seem so short after you finish watching this masterpiece! I really love their storytelling because it’s not only full of spine-tingling encounters from vengeful ghosts but we can also see heartwarming stories from the characters.

Sell Your Haunted House

Jang Na Ra and Jung Yong Hwa’s horror thriller “Sell Your Haunted House” is something you shouldn’t miss this Halloween season! The drama revolves around Hong Ji Ah (Jang Nara), a real estate agent with a unique and otherworldly ability—she can see and communicate with spirits and Oh In Bum (Jung Yong Hwa), a con artist with his own mysterious agenda. Together, the two embark on a journey to confront malevolent spirits and unveil the secrets behind haunted houses!

Why it’s a must-watch? The series’ standout feature is having Jang Na Ra as the main character! Her portrayal of a real estate agent who can communicate with ghosts brings depth to the series. Each episode has a unique case involving a haunted property and the mysteries surrounding Ji Ah’s past and In Bum’s hidden agenda and it’s amazing how they tied up everything in the end. I can not also mention the main couple’s oozing chemistry whenever they are together!

The Ghost Detective

Now let’s dive into another supernatural ghost drama with”The Ghost Detective!” The drama centers around Lee Da Il (Choi Daniel), a private detective with a unique specialization—he investigates paranormal and supernatural occurrences and his bubbly and spirited assistant, Jung Yeo Wool (Park Eun Bin)! Together they tackle cases that defy logic and explore the realms of the unknown.

Why it’s a must-watch? If you’ve become a fan of Park Eun Bin in “Extraordinary Attorney Woo” then this drama is perfect to watch this Halloween! You can never go wrong with a Park Eun Bin drama because her performance breathes life into her character! One of the main points of this show is how it’s an all-in-one drama! You can expect to see horror, mystery, and suspense with a little bit of comedy in every episode. I love how there’s always something new to look forward to since each episode features unique paranormal cases involving vengeful spirits and unsolved mysteries, and you’ll never know what happens next because of the unexpected twist along the way.

Lovely Horribly

A good horror K-drama to watch is Song Ji Hyo’s “Lovely Horribly,” which is full of eerie coincidences, dark secrets, and the supernatural! The drama follows the intertwined fates of two individuals, Philip (Park Si Hoo) and Eul Soon (Song Ji Hyo), whose lives are bizarrely connected by a string of inexplicable and often terrifying events. While Philip is a successful actor, Eul Soon is a struggling screenwriter plagued by bad luck. Their uncanny connection leads to a series of paranormal incidents that blur the line between what is real and not.

Why it’s a must-watch? The first reason you need to watch this drama is because it has Song Ji Hyo! Her chemistry with Park Si Hoo feels like they aren’t acting! The drama is known for having leads with strong performances, an engaging storyline, and heartwarming stories. The drama is also great at connecting the characters’ pasts, and hidden connections, and revealing secrets that will shock everyone. It explores themes of fate, destiny, and the consequences of one’s choices, all against a backdrop of supernatural occurrences.

Zombie Detective

If you’re in the mood for a unique and entertaining twist on the zombie genre, “Zombie Detective” is for you. It tells the story of Kim Moo Young, (Choi Jin-hyuk), a zombie who wakes up in a morgue with no memories of his past life. Rather than succumb to his undead nature, he decides to blend in with the living and become a private detective. With his newfound abilities, including enhanced senses and super strength, Moo Young sets out to solve mysteries and help people in unconventional ways.

Why it’s a must-watch? We’re used to zombie dramas, which are always in the serious zone, but “Zombie Detective” is different! This series combines elements of horror, comedy, and mystery to offer a hilarious take on the world of the undead. Choi Jin Hyuk proves that he’s one of the best actors with his role since his charismatic performance brings depth and humor. His character is so funny that you won’t stop laughing watching him! Since the main character is a detective, each episode presents a unique case for Moo Young to solve, often with absurd and humorous results. It’s the kind of drama that will keep us entertained with its witty humor, clever references, and lighthearted approach to the zombie genre.

The Village Achiara’s Secret

For those who love mysteries and dark revelations, “The Village Achiara’s Secret” is a Korean drama series that should be at the top of your must-watch list. “The Village: Achiara’s Secret” unfolds in a seemingly peaceful village named Achiara. However, beneath the picturesque facade lies a web of enigmatic mysteries and long-buried secrets. The series centers around Han So Yoon (Moon Geun Young,) a young English teacher who becomes entangled in a complex web of mysteries after discovering a buried corpse.

Why it’s a must-watch? This drama has an interesting synopsis and has elements of mystery, suspense, and psychological drama. Each episode unveils a layer of intrigue, introducing complex characters with hidden agendas and motives. I really love it when dramas make me think of what will happen next since it’s fun guessing what secrets will unfold next and who is really the suspect. We already know Moon Geun Young is an amazing actress and her portrayal of Han So Yoon is on another level. It’s really different from the other dramas since it delves into the psychological depths of its characters, making a thought-provoking narrative.

Korean Ghost Stories – 2008

And to those who aren’t in the mood for a K-drama with a lot of episodes, “Korean Ghost Stories -2008″ is a must-watch anthology series. Korean Ghost Stories” presents a collection of standalone episodes, each has a different ghostly narrative drawn from Korean culture and folklore. The series delves into chilling tales, vengeful spirits seeking justice to malevolent entities haunting the living.

Why it’s a must-watch? If I want to watch a drama that will scare me, then this is the drama to watch. It really did a good job of capturing the essence of Korean ghost stories and legends, as it provides a unique opportunity to discover and appreciate the rich folklore and legends that have been passed down through generations. I also love how each episode transports viewers to different periods and locations within Korea.

“Sweet Home”

This is the drama you shouldn’t miss out on this season! “Sweet Home” takes viewers into a post-apocalyptic nightmare where humanity faces extinction at the hands of terrifying monsters. The series follows Cha Hyun Soo, (Song Kang) a young man grappling with grief and despair, who finds himself barricaded in an apartment building with a group of diverse survivors.

Why it’s a must-watch? It delivers a perfect mix of horror, action, and psychological drama. Each episode is a relentless rollercoaster of suspense, brutal encounters, and heart-pounding action sequences that you won’t notice the time passes by. Another amazing thing about this drama is that since it’s set in an apartment complex, the series doesn’t just focus on one character but a lot, so we can’t help but root for their safety from the monsters. I really enjoyed watching this drama since we also learned about the backstories of each character and how they fought with their inner demons and confronted their darkest fears.
