Here are the highlights of episodes 15 & 16 of “Iron Family”.

“Iron Family” Episodes 15 & 16 Recap:

  • Seung Don is caught and has nowhere left to hide regarding his past relationship with a woman infamous for her seductive behavior. Ji Yeon and Bong Hee confront him, grilling him about why Tae Woong was abandoned. Overhearing their conversation, Gang Ju barges in, arguing that Tae Woong didn’t have a terrible upbringing since he owns numerous stocks, buildings, and assets. Bong Hee is shocked by this revelation. Unaware of these facts, she had cared for Tae Woong like her own son nurturing him and giving him a part-time job at the dry cleaner’s, believing he had nowhere else to go.
  • After Gang Ju’s revelation, Bong Hee discovers that the building they are renting for both their home and dry-cleaning business is owned by Tae Woong. Moreover, he also owns the buildings adjacent to where Da Rim’s family lives. News spreads quickly throughout the neighborhood, and everyone learns that Tae Woong is extremely wealthy, with numerous assets.
  • Following Bong Hee’s interrogation, Seung Don begins to empathize with how difficult Tae Woong’s childhood must have been, growing up without his parents.
  • Cha Rim learns that Tae Woong owns nearly all the buildings in the neighborhood and is also the son of Seung Don, the CEO of her company. Cha Rim had a casual “situationship” with Tae Woong but never took it seriously, as she was determined to date someone financially well-off, assuming Tae Woong wasn’t. She now realizes she was deceived—Tae Woong was, in fact, the wealthiest of them all.
  • On the company bulletin board, an anonymous post accuses Gang Ju of embezzling company funds to attend film school instead of pursuing an MBA. Gang Ju’s MBA diploma secured his current position, but if this allegation proves true, he’s in serious trouble. Cha Rim warns Da Rim to stay out of it and not say anything to Gang Ju. Meanwhile, Seung Don investigates the author of the post to expose Gang Ju publicly. He also delves into why Gang Ju lied about attending New York Film School while allegedly using company money to study for his MBA.
  • Gang Ju admits that the film school tuition came from his own money, not the company’s. He did attend both MBA and film school at the same time but without Seung Don knowing. He reveals that he once dreamed of joining the film industry but later shifted his ambition to becoming a business entrepreneur, like Seung Don. Despite this, Gang Ju excelled in film school, even winning an award during his time at New York Film School.
  • Tae Woong flies to New York to meet his supposedly terminally ill mother. However, when they meet, it becomes clear that she has been deceiving everyone. She reveals details about Gang Ju’s wrongdoings on purpose and claims this is her legacy to Tae Woong: separating Gang Ju from Seung Don so Tae Woong can take over the company. Tae Woong scoffs, telling her to stay silent and prepare for her end.
  • After returning home, Tae Woong faces a barrage of questions. He confesses that the reason he hid his financial status was his fear that Bong Hee would reject him upon learning the truth. Tae Woong had experienced genuine warmth from Bong Hee’s family for the first time in his life and worried that if they knew he was wealthy, they might treat him differently.
  • Following the company scandal, Seung Don removes Gang Ju from his position. Gang Ju insists he did nothing wrong—he completed his MBA but chose to study filmmaking simultaneously without informing anyone. Determined to regain Seung Don’s trust, Gang Ju stations himself in the company hallway, refusing to leave until he is forgiven. Feeling guilty for staying silent after Cha Rim’s advice, Da Rim begins visiting Gang Ju periodically to keep him company.
