“Iron Family” Episodes 23 & 24 Recap:

• Everyone is in a panic after Man Deuk ends up in a hospital bed. The family prays fervently for him to wake up soon. Fortunately, Man Deuk regains consciousness, but the doctor issues some serious warnings. Man Deuk reveals that the reason for his collapse was the shock of finding nothing under the mattress. Distraught, he cries over the missing money. Gil Rye and Bong Hee rush home to confirm his claims, only to find the money exactly where it had been left. They mistakenly conclude that Man Deuk may be experiencing early signs of amnesia. As they take photos to show him, their grandson walks into the room to use the bathroom and notices a stash of money under his grandparents’ bed.
• The money ended up under the bed because Gang Ju, though initially tempted to keep it and give it to his mother, felt guilty and returned it to its original place under the mattress. Da Rim, grateful for Gang Ju’s decision, impulsively kisses him on the cheek, overwhelmed by her emotions.

• Ji Yeon confronts Da Rim, demanding answers about why Gang Ju has been ignoring her calls. She pointedly asks if Da Rim and Gang Ju are romantically involved or if Da Rim is pregnant. Unable to explain her closeness to Gang Ju, Da Rim lies, claiming that they have broken up and will never see each other again.
• Seung Don summons Gang Ju and informs him that Tae Woong will be moving into Gang Ju’s room. He asks Gang Ju to pack his belongings and leave. Heartbroken, Gang Ju tearfully vows to work his way back into Seung Don’s good graces and reclaim his place as his son.
• Seung Don also hires Tae Woong at his company to replace Gang Ju. Forced to move, Gang Ju begins living with Tae Woong and promises Da Rim that together they will earn enough money to pay off her eye surgery costs and prove his worth to Seung Don by building a business from the ground up.

• Man Deuk’s daughter, Mi Yeon, discovers the large sum of money under the mattress. She discreetly takes small amounts over time to pay off her mortgage.

• Meanwhile, the man assisting Ji Yeon in tracking down her money finally discovers that it was hidden near Mount Euak. Mu Rim, assigned to the case, continues his investigation. His mother-in-law, a senior police officer, intervenes and reveals that Ji Yeon is the daughter of White Bear, a former mastermind in the loan shark business. Both the police and Ji Yeon’s associates continue their search for the missing money.

• Da Rim gathers unused clothing from her mother’s dry-cleaning business, some of which hadn’t been worn in over a decade. She cleans and irons them to resell as vintage wear. While building the business with Gang Ju, she develops feelings for him and impulsively kisses him on the lips while he sleeps. Gang Ju, however, disapproves of selling second-hand clothing.
• Man Deuk and Bong Hee eventually discover Gang Ju’s involvement in selling clothes from the dry cleaner’s inventory. Shocked and disappointed, they confront him. Although Gang Ju wasn’t the one who uploaded the photos advertising the clothes, he takes responsibility for it and begs on his knees for forgiveness.

• Da Rim feels terribly sorry for having Gang Jun be the blame for her actions and sincerely apologizes. She grows feelings for Gang Ju more and more.
