“Iron Family” Episodes 33 & 34 Recap:
- Now that Ji Yeon knows the whereabouts of her stolen money, she harbors immense animosity toward Bong Hee and her family.
- The police chief remains suspicious about the money and Bong Hee’s family. She asks Ji Yeon if she has any information, but Ji Yeon refrains from reporting anything after promising Gang Ju she wouldn’t — in exchange for his agreement to break up with Da Rim.
- Ji Yeon’s housekeeper, who is also a close friend of Bong Hee, overhears Ji Yeon’s frustrations about Gang Ju. During the conversation, Ji Yeon reveals that Bong Hee’s family stole her money, and to cover the missing amount, Gang Ju filled it up and reburied it in the mountains to protect Bong Hee from being arrested. The housekeeper, shocked beyond belief, runs to her son-in-law to share the news. To her astonishment, he already knew everything and was even involved in burying the money.
- Enraged, the housekeeper confronts Bong Hee, questioning why she involved her son-in-law in her theft, and adds that Ji Yeon knows everything. Bong Hee is horrified.
- Bong Hee visits Ji Yeon’s home to plead for forgiveness. Ji Yeon finally opens the door. Bong Hee kneels and begs for mercy, but Ji Yeon remains unmoved. She demands that Bong Hee and her family leave the city immediately or face being reported to the police. Da Rim, learning of her mother’s whereabouts, rushes to Ji Yeon’s home and finds her mother on the ground. Da Rim kneels and begs for forgiveness as well, but Ji Yeon remains steadfast. When Gang Ju returns home and witnesses the scene, Ji Yeon silences him and demands he say nothing.
- Bong Hee decides to leave the city as Ji Yeon wishes. Left with no choice, she begins preparations to depart, including shutting down her dry-cleaning business. Man Deuk and Gil Rye are heartbroken, as leaving the city they’ve lived in all their lives devastates them.
- Da Rim resigns from her job and breaks up with Gang Ju. Bong Hee continues her preparations to leave the city.
- Gang Ju tries his best to keep his distance from Da Rim, even saying harsh things to push her away. However, his deep love for her makes it nearly impossible to go through with the breakup.
- Gil Rye and Man Deuk decide to take their own lives, hoping to shoulder the blame and ease the burden on Bong Hee. They leave farewell letters for Bong Hee and Ji Yeon and take a taxi to a bridge, planning to end their lives. However, the suspicious taxi driver takes them back home instead. Bong Hee spends the entire time in tears, worried sick about them.
- The police chief, who is Mu Rim’s mother-in-law, discovers through Mu Rim’s dashcam recording that it was Mu Rim’s grandparents and Bong Hee who stole the money. She gathers her officers and heads to Bong Hee’s home. They arrest Bong Hee, Man Deuk, Gil Rye, and Mu Rim.
- When Gang Ju learns of their arrest, he testifies that he was also involved and insists on being taken into custody. He provides a full confession detailing his role, leading to his arrest as well.

- Gang Ju sacrifices his relationship with his mother and ends up in a holding cell alongside the rest of the family.
