Here are the highlights of episodes 35 & 36 of “Iron Family”.

“Iron Family” Final Episodes 35 & 36 Recap:

  • Da Rim’s family and Gang Ju are taken to the police station. Gang Ju insists on being arrested as an accomplice to the whole ordeal. Meanwhile, Man Deuk, Gil Rye, and Bong Hee undergo investigation. Mu Rim also faces legal trouble for destroying evidence and obstructing the investigation.
  • Ji Yeon is shocked to see her own son, Gang Ju, being investigated for her stolen money. However, Gang Ju remains resolute, telling his mother that he will not break up with Da Rim and will stand by her no matter what. Furious, Ji Yeon demands the investigators scrutinize him thoroughly and ensure he serves jail time for all his wrongdoings.
  • The case goes to trial. Mu Rim is dismissed from the police force, while Da Rim, Mi Yeon, and Gi Dung are found not guilty. Man Deuk and Gil Rye receive a sentence ranging from 1 to 15 years, but because they stole the money not for personal gain but to help their granddaughter, they are only sentenced to one year in prison—just like Bong Hee.
  • Da Rim starts a new job and blocks all of Gang Ju’s calls. Meanwhile, their former neighbors label the Dry Cleaners’ family as criminals, tarnishing their reputation.
  • The day finally arrives for Ji Yeon to reclaim her money—something she has long awaited. All that remains is for her to deposit it safely in the bank. However, the men who initially helped her search for the money have no intention of letting that happen. After being fired for their incompetence, they harbor a deep grudge against Ji Yeon. Determined to steal the money, they chase after her car.
  • Gang Ju steps out of the car, confronts them head-on, and yells for Ji Yeon to drive to the bank. Although hesitant, she does as he says, knowing something terrible might happen to him.
  • Unable to shake off her unease, Ji Yeon turns back to retrieve Gang Ju—only to find it’s too late. The burglars have already been reported to the police, and Gang Ju has been rushed to the hospital with a severe head injury. He undergoes major surgery but remains unconscious. Ji Yeon is devastated, blaming herself and the very money she fought so hard to protect for failing her son.
  • As Gang Ju remains unconscious in his hospital bed, Da Rim collapses in grief upon hearing the news. Gil Rye, Man Deuk, and Bong Hee pray for his recovery every day. Desperate to see him, Da Rim visits the hospital, but Ji Yeon firmly refuses to let her in.
  • With Gang Ju’s fate uncertain, Ji Yeon stays by his side, hoping for a miracle. No matter what she does, he remains unresponsive. Desperate, she bings Da Rim to the hospital, believing she might be the key to waking him up. Though hesitant, Ji Yeon is willing to try anything for her son’s sake.
  • Da Rim breaks down in tears upon seeing Gang Ju in his hospital bed. Ji Yeon pleads with her to do whatever it takes to wake him, even if that means kissing him on the forehead—or even on the lips. Ji Yeon goes further, vowing to donate all her money to people in need, including those who cannot afford life-saving surgeries like Da Rim’s family.
  • In a surprising turn, Gang Ju reacts. His fingers twitch, and his eyelids flutter. Encouraged, Ji Yeon makes a bold promise—she will give away all her money. At that moment, Gang Ju finally regains consciousness, opening his eyes to see both Ji Yeon and Da Rim by his side.
  • Gang Ju makes a full recovery, and Man Deuk, Gil Rye, and Bong Hee are released from prison. Life gradually returns to normal. Gang Ju and Tae Woong thrive under Seung Don’s company, while Mu Rim and Su Ji begin to mend their relationship. Most importantly, Da Rim and Gang Ju remain steadfast in their love for each other.
