Once you fall into the K-Drama rabbit hole, suddenly, you’re invested in 16-episode love stories and emotional confessions that happen in the rain for maximum drama effect.

If you’re just starting your K-Drama journey, consider this your official warning:

One show turns into three…
Three turns into ten…
And suddenly you’re planning your evenings around subtitles and emotional cliffhangers. Oh, the pain of a K-Drama cliffhanger!

But hey, there are worse hobbies. *wink wink*

In Part 1, we talked about a few romances that can get you started in the romantic-comedy K-Drama genre. In Part 2, we have five series that bring the passion, the tension, the laughs, and a little bit of the heartbreak before the happily ever after.

Check out our pick for five romantic-comedy K-Dramas, that will ruin your sleep schedule, below.

MOONSHINE

Love and a little bit of illegal alcohol

Set during a time when alcohol is banned, the story follows a determined woman secretly brewing liquor to survive and the straight-laced inspector tasked with enforcing the law, who also happens to be her tenant.

Naturally, she has to keep this secret from him, though there are more than a few moments where both leads realize they may be falling for the one person who could ruin their lives (which is peak K-Drama romance).

THE UNDATEABLES

Some people believe in true love. Others absolutely do not.

“The Undateables” pairs a cynical relationship expert who thinks romance is pointless with a cheerful matchmaker who believes everyone deserves a happy ending. Hello, romantic chaos pair.

Watching these two argue about love while slowly falling for each other is half the point of this show, watching the cynic start to believe in love is the other. This drama leans into rom-com territory hard and hits up plenty of tropes to make romance lovers happy.

TALE OF ARANG

A ghostly love story

A young magistrate who can see ghosts arrives in a village haunted by the restless spirit of a woman named Arang. She has no memory of how she died—only that she needs his help to uncover the truth. As they investigate local ghost tales and the secrets surrounding her death, their connection grows deeper and more complicated.

If you like your romance with a little (well, probably a lot) of supernatural mystery, “Tale of Arang” is a fun one to watch. It’s eerie, emotional, and spookily romantic.

BEAUTY AND MR. ROMANTIC

A love story for Hollywood

Sometimes romance isn’t about meeting the perfect person; sometimes it’s about finding your way back to someone who understood you.

Beauty and Mr. Romantic follows a struggling actress whose life begins to unravel, and the passionate producer determined to help her rebuild her career and her confidence.

Watch their relationship evolve from professional partnership into something straight out a Hollywood story.

Romance is one of the things Korean dramas know how to do in spades. Whether it’s royal court intrigue, supernatural soulmates, or chaotic workplace crushes, these stories know how to play the emotional strings to make you feel everything.
