Wrapping up 2020, let’s go over the most-watched and talked about Korean series from each month of the year!

January – Dr. Romantic 2

This series is a wholesome medical drama filled with both thrilling moments and heartwarming scenes. Dr. Boo Yong Joo (Han Seok Kyu) is a skillful yet eccentric doctor. He says harsh words that hurt his medical staff, but in the end, they all mean well and warm up people’s hearts. The second season of this series doesn’t disappoint either, despite the heightened expectations after its first hit season. Dr. Boo Yong Joo stays true to his eccentric personality, but this time, his medical team also cares for him and helps him learn to take breaks from time to time.

The other two leads Cha Eun Jae (Lee Sung Kyoung) and Seo Woo Jin (Ahn Hyo Seop) also slowly learn to become better doctors thanks to Dr. Boo. As colleagues, they bump into each other every so often, creating that adorable romantic tension whenever they start a conversation. The two make up a huge portion of the romance in this drama and they leave many hearts fluttering!

February – Wild Romance

If you miss classic Korean dramas, this is the show for you! These days, we see our leads fall in love at a drop of a hat in most dramas. It’s nice, because we get to the lovey-dovey scenes quicker. But because of that, we miss out on the heart-throbbing progress of the leads falling in love gradually. “Wild Romance” is perfect if you are feeling nostalgic and looking for a slow burn romance story!

March – Nobody Knows

Nobody Knows” is a crime drama with nice pacing and the truth is revealed gradually. From the very start, the series is filled with mystery. It begins with a student who falls off the rooftop of a hotel without a known reason. Detective Cha Young Jin (Kim Seo Hyung), who happens to know the boy well, tries looking for any evidence that will solve the case. The story weaves together the mystery surrounding the boy and an unsolved case, which is related to Young Jin’s past trauma, so seamlessly that it’s almost unnoticeable.

April – Good Casting

If you put together 3 inexperienced agents – -a housewife, an agent on desk assignment, and an agent who does whatever she wants — on a team for an undercover mission, what would the outcome be? The cast of “Good Casting” would answer: “A comedic mess!” Their lack of teamwork coupled with their ineptitude is absolutely hysterical. This crew is no ‘Charlie’s Angels’ and the trio barely manages to complete their mission each episode. “Good Casting” is a lighthearted drama for when you need to take your mind off things!

May – Stove League: The Real

Baseball fans loved this show! 3 actors from the drama “Stove League” joined KBO baseball teams to experience how real-life baseball is managed behind the scenes. The show makes several references to the original drama so that it’s easy for newbies to follow too! See the similarities and differences between the drama and real-life baseball teams. June – My Wonderful Life

Our female lead Park Bok Hee (Shim Yi Young) actually leads a life nothing close to wonderful,  unlike its title. The story is rather dramatic with many twists around every corner. It’s a fun ride full of the most classic and the craziest Korean drama clichés. It will keep any makjang fan watching!
