BTS Surpasses 300M Views on Youtube
BTS has been breaking records after records! Their music video “Dynamite” reached 300 million views on September 5 at 4.50 PM KST. This is their thirteenth music video to hit that amount of views and it is the first music video by a Korean artist to reach it so quickly.
Following the release of the latest single “Dynamite,” the boy band BTS also broke another 3 Guinness World Records! And it only took them 24 hours after the release of the music video to break all three of them. It was the most viewed YouTube video in 24 hours, the most viewed YouTube music video in 24 hours, and the most viewed YouTube music video in 24 hours by a K-pop group.
This newest track is the band’s first song that’s completely in English, and it was released on August 24, 1 PM KST. All three titles were broken previously by BLACKPINK with their song “How You Like That.”
In addition, BTS became the first Korean artist to make it to #1 on the Billboard’s Hot 100 list just a week ago! The boy group also holds several other Guinness World Records titles such as the first K-pop band to reach number one on the US album chart.

Hwang Jung-Eum Files for Divorce
Actress Hwang Jung-Eum announced her divorce through her agency a day after her drama “To All the Guys Who Loved Me” aired its final episode. On September 3, her agency C-JeS Entertainment released a statement that reads: “It’s true that Hwang Jung-Eum filed for a divorce. We will make sure to help her with the process so that both parties can negotiate the divorce smoothly. We ask for your understanding as the reason for her divorce and other details cannot be revealed because they are private.”
Hwang Jung-Eum married Lee Young-Don who is a former professional golfer, and businessman for 4 years. The two have a son together, born a year after their marriage.
The actress has two successfully completed dramas this year, namely, “Mystic Pop-up Bar” and “To All the Guys Who Loved Me.” Other than those two, she is also best known for several notable dramas such as “Secret Love,” “Kill Me Heal Me,” “She Was Pretty,” and “Lucky Romance.”

Lee Hyori Deactivates Her Instagram Account
On September 6, Lee Hyori deactivated her Instagram account. This is 4 days after she created an Instagram post announcing that she will no longer use it.
On September 2, she wrote on Instagram saying that she planned to stop using her Instagram account. She clarified that it is not necessarily because of the recent issue, although it still influenced her decision somehow. She wanted to use Instagram initially as a platform to communicate with her fans since she does not promote often. She continued by stating that she will consider a different way to communicate with her fans.
On September 3, she posted an image on Instagram with the caption “Last Selfie.” which left many fans and celebrities concerned. This was also her final post on Instagram before she deactivated it.
