From Happily Ever After to “Let’s Get Divorced”

Baek Mi Young, played by Lee Min Jung, and Ji Won Ho, played by Kim Ji Suk, have been married for seven years. Together, they run a wedding dress business called J&WHITE, spending their days surrounded by brides, beautiful gowns, and couples preparing to say “I do.”

Their own marriage, however, is anything but picture-perfect.

What started as a passionate relationship has slowly become weighed down by arguments, emotional distance, and problems neither of them can ignore anymore. Eventually, the two come to the same life-changing conclusion: it may be time to get divorced.

And this breakup is not going to be simple.

With their marriage and business deeply intertwined, separating means dealing with much more than hurt feelings. Questions surrounding their company, ownership, finances, and the life they built together quickly become part of the battle.

Lee Min Jung and Kim Ji Suk Bring a Complicated Marriage to Life

The drama wastes no time showing just how strained Mi Young and Won Ho’s relationship has become.

Even while preparing to appear together on a couples’ TV program, their frustration with each other boils over into a very public argument. Their heated exchange hints that years of resentment have been building beneath the surface and that something much bigger may have pushed their marriage toward its breaking point.

That tension is exactly what makes “OK! Let’s Get Divorced” more than a simple breakup story.

Instead of beginning with two strangers falling in love, the drama starts with two people who already loved each other deeply and asks a much harder question: How did they get here?

Divorce Gets Even More Complicated

Of course, a K-Drama divorce would be far too easy without a few unexpected people entering the picture.

Lee Hyun Jin plays Calvin, a hotel executive with a past connection to Mi Young, while Lee Jin Yi appears as photographer An Hee Joo, who shares history with Won Ho from Milan. Their arrival adds another layer of uncertainty to an already complicated marriage.

The supporting cast also includes Oh Yeon Ah, Jung Eui Jae, Wang Bit Na, Koo Sung Hwan, and Moon Hee Kyung, each becoming involved in the couple’s increasingly tangled personal and professional lives.

With lawyers, business partners, old connections, and unresolved emotions all coming into play, Mi Young and Won Ho may discover that ending a marriage can be just as complicated as building one.

A Romance That Starts Where Most Rom-Coms End

Most romantic K-Dramas spend their time getting a couple to the altar.

“OK! Let’s Get Divorced” starts after the wedding, after the honeymoon phase, and after reality has had plenty of time to settle in.

That gives the series a refreshing setup. Rather than asking whether two people will fall in love, it explores whether love can survive disappointment, resentment, and the enormous changes that come with spending years together.

And when a couple has already decided divorce is the answer, there is another question worth asking:

Are they really finished with each other?
