Here are the highlights of episodes 8 & 9 of “Live Your Own Life”!
“Live Your Own Life” Episode 8 & 9 Recap:
- Hyo Sim vents her frustration to Tae Min after all the hardships she is going through due to her family. Her mother was still yearning for her lost husband, her youngest brother borrowed so much money from a loan shark, and her second brother was studying for an exam that he did not know if he’d pass or not. Tae Min takes her to a nearby park, and they share their concerns and get closer.
- One night, Tae Min talks with his father. His father was a bit drunk and as they talked, Tae Min found out the whereabouts of his lost grandmother for the past three years. He wasn’t aware of where she was, but his father told him that after the Taesan Group CEO (Tae Min’s grandfather) died and coincidently, the second son of the group (Tae Ho’s father) died, Myung Hee blamed the firstborn for the death of the second son on the group. Jin Bum (firstborn of the group and Tae Min’s father) did not want to continuously get blamed and defame the Taesan Group for an absurd rumor, so he and his wife, Sook Hyang, hid Myung Hee in a home in the countryside, where no one can find her. When Tae Min hears about this, he is beyond shocked because he has no answers to give whenever Tae Ho asks him about their grandmother Myung Hee. Jin Bum also tells Tae Min that before anybody else finds Myung Hee and allows her to spread groundless rumors, they have to find her first.
- Tae Ho gets a phone call, and he gets notified that they finally found Myung Hee and that she is in Gwangwon Province. He quickly drives to the address given and looks for his grandmother. Tae Ho has a special affection for his grandmother. After both his parents passed away, Myung Hee was the only caretaker for Tae Ho, and they kept a close relationship. But while Tae Ho was studying abroad, he heard the tragic news that his grandmother had gone missing. Now that Tae Ho is back in Korea and given the information about where his grandmother is, he is hopeful.
- Tae Ho visits the safehouse where Myung Hee was incarcerated. However, he cannot find his grandmother there. He leaves with despair. But this does not make him give up searching for his grandmother.
- Tae Ho kept his parents’ car in storage in case he further needed to investigate the cause of the accident, even though the car was in the exact state from the day of the car accident. However, Tae Min got rid of this car, which made Tae Ho furious.

Hyo Sim is worried about Tae Ho, who skipped the workout without any notice because this is so out of his character.
Tae Ho is livid with Tae Min for getting rid of his late father’s belongings.
Sook Hyang is coming up with a devious plan to put Tae Ho in jail so she doesn’t have any obstacles in searching for Myung Hee and helping her husband remain the CEO of Taesan Group.
