“Live Your Own Life” Episode 48 & 49 Recap:
  • Hyo Sim’s encounter with her long-lost father was emotionally charged. Despite her hopes for recognition, his shock and lack of acknowledgment left her heartbroken.
  • Meanwhile, Hyo Sung’s unexpected reunion with his childhood piano teacher took a bitter turn when she revealed her elopement with his father and his dire health condition. Her audacity to seek help from Hyo Sung left him feeling incensed and betrayed.
  • When Tae Ho introduces his grandmother Myung Hee to Sun Soon, the revelation of her true identity as the head of the conglomerate surprises Sun Soon.
  • Hyo Sung’s return to the company and subsequent promotion brings joy to Sun Soon, marking a turning point after enduring company conspiracies.
  • Hyo Sim storms into the hospital again, consumed by anger at her father’s nonchalant reaction when they met. Despite years of worry and longing from the family, and Sun Soon’s fervent prayers for her husband’s return, he had been living a comfortable life with another woman.
  • Hyo Sim talks to her brother Hyo Sung about it, and they are not sure what to do. They are at a crossroads because he shows up after all these years, having cheated, but now he is terminally ill and needs the family’s help.
  • The family was summoned to celebrate Hyo Sung’s promotion, but everything came to a halt when they were interrupted by Ms. Park, who knelt down asking for forgiveness. Sun Soon finally comes to a realization and discovers where her long-lost husband is and visits him in the hospital. Sun Soon wails in tears with disdain. She cannot believe he shows up after all these years, asking his kids for a liver transplant. She finds the situation totally unfair and would rather wish him dead.
  • Hyo Sim postpones her marriage with Tae Ho, leaving him unable to comprehend. He feels disappointed that she refuses to share the core issue with him. Hyo Sim hesitates to reveal the whole truth. Later on, Hyo Sung discovers that Hyo Sim is delaying the wedding because she has decided to donate her liver to her father. Unfortunately, Hyo Sim is the only sibling who can be a donor. Hyo Sung pleads with Hyo Sim to reconsider, not wanting her to undergo such a sacrifice before marriage. However, Hyo Sim remains steadfast in her decision and pleads with Hyo Sung to keep it a secret between them. Hyo Sung struggles to express his deep regret for all the sacrifices Hyo Sim has made for their family and Sun Soon, especially in light of this new burden.
  • In exchange, Hyo Sim asserts her rightful demand: a sincere apology from her father to every member of the family, acknowledging the impact of his actions and taking responsibility for his past shortcomings as a father figure.
  • Tae Ho lately found out that Hyo Sim is getting surgery and rushes to the hospital. However, it is a bit too late.
