Currently airing dramas are coming to an end, leaving our hearts empty and wanting to see more like always. It’s always sad to say goodbye to those dramas we have enjoyed, but that also means another new wave of dramas is here to keep us entertained!

Different Dreams (Began airing on May 4)

Every Saturday.

Began after: “Love in Sadness.

Main Leads: Lee Yo-Won, Yoo Ji-Tae, Lim Ju-Hwan, Nam Gyu-Ri.

Plot: Inspired by real historical events and figures recorded in Korea’s long and painful history, the drama follows a man who goes by the name Kim Won-Bong (Yoo Ji-Tae), whom only a few know of his real name. With a burning passion in his heart, he dreams of independence and works towards it. Lee Young-Jin (Lee Yo-Won) is a Korean woman raised by a Japanese military doctor, she returns to Joseon and becomes the first female surgeon. The two cross paths, they begin working together despite having different ideologies.

The Secret Life of My Secretary (Began airing on May 6)

Every Monday and Tuesday.

Began after: “Haechi.”

Main Leads: Jin Ki-Joo, Kim Young-Kwang, Kim Jae-Kyung, Koo Ja-Sung.

Plot: Do Min-Ik (Kim Young-Kwang) is a competent man working as an executive in a leading telecommunications company. He’s good at remembering people he has met just once and could read people’s thoughts–that is, until he gets diagnosed with face blindness. Jung Gal-Hee (Jin Ki-Joo) is a hard worker as his secretary but loses her job one day. She impersonates an influential figure, Veronica Park (Kim Jae-Kyung), and Do Min-Ik falls in love with her.

Absolute Boyfriend (Began airing on May 15)

Every Wednesday and Thursday.

Began after: “Big Issue.”

Main Leads: Yeo Jin-Goo, Bang Min-Ah, Hong Jong-Hyun.

Plot: Eom Da-Da (Bang Min-Ah) is a special effects make-up artist. She has a humanoid robot named Young-Goo (Yeo Jin-Goo) programmed to be the perfect boyfriend for her. Eom Da-Da finds herself in a triangle love with Young-Goo and Ma Wang-Joon (Hong Jong-Hyun).

The drama is based on the manga series “Zettai Kareshi” by Yuu Watase.

On a side note, Bang Min-Ah has starred in a really adorable romcom along with Nam Goong-Min back in 2016–“Dear Fair Lady Kong Shim.” I recommend bingeing on this while waiting for the next episodes of “Absolute Boyfriend!”

Angel’s Last Mission: Love (Airing on May 22)

Every Wednesday and Thursday.

Begins after: “Doctor Prisoner.”

Main Leads: Shin Hye-Sun, Kim Myung Soo (Infinite’s L), Lee Dong-Gun.

Plot: Dan (Kim Myung-Soo) is an angel and also a troublemaker. He has to complete his mission to return to Heaven. That mission is to find true love for Lee Yeon-Seo (Shin Hye-Sun), but ends up falling in love with her instead.

“Angel’s Last Mission: Love” seems to have a unique plot, and I’m really excited to see Yeo Jin-Goo and Shin Hye-Sun in their new dramas! Which of these new dramas do you look forward to?
